If you just want to relax with the beach on walking distance and not many people around you: this is the place to be.
The bungalow is situated in a residential area with mostly expats.
We rented the smaller bungalow, spacious enough for the two of us but the kitchen was not quite suited to prepare a proper meal. In the vicinity there are eating places on walking distance, but most of them close at 15 hrs. Those that are still open are more expensive.
You can do some shopping at a small supermarket but for the real things you have to travel by car or bath bus.
The beach around the corner is very quiet and clean. You can rent a deck chair, parasol, have a massage, buy a beer or an icecream.
If you have no transport of your own the baht bus (20Bht) takes you to Pattaya in 40 minutes.
The lady in charge was very nice and helpful.
I would recommend the bungalow to people that love the quiet and reading.
In that sense I would recommend the place to others.
We stayed in the larger property. 2 adults and 2 girls aged 9 and 4. Spacious rooms. A/C in bedrooms very welcome. Fantastic outside seating area. Out of the way but hustle and bustle easily reached by baht bus. Secluded beach within easy walking distance and pool round the corner. Pool and bar under new management and looks promising.
We rented the smaller bungalow. It is a nice size, well laid out with ensuite bathrooms to each bedroom . Good patio with fan and light, perfect for eating out. The beach is a few minutes walk away but Ban Ampur is a bit of a trek if it is very hot. We walked one way and took the baht bus back. The bar at the pool is closed but the pool was quite nice. No WiFi so if it is important to you, suggest you visit the Country Place restaurant and bar at the top of the road (3-4 mins walk) near the family mart shop. Free Wi-Fi here and entry into a "zoo" . A little run down but our 9 yr old liked it. Free entry to the first bit and then small fee for the "exotic" farm area. Food a bit overpriced but not bad.
Our only gripe was that the description said aircon whereas in the bungalow we were in there was only aircon in one bedroom and ceiling fans in the other and in the living room. It was exceptionally hot so, despite the extra fan supplied by the caretaker(who was really helpful), I had to move my mattress into the aircon room. Small adequate kitchen and nice big fridge / freezer. There is a washing machine and well placed washing line shared with the other bungalow. A car would make life easier especially for a family but it was ok using the bus and walking. It is in a much more pleasant part of pattaya / sattahip and the beaches and sea seemed clean. Even on a Saturday the beach nearest us was empty and the main beach had people in the seafood restaurants but few on the beach.
Coming from Bangkok it is an easy taxi ride away, (we paid 1500 bht ) or the bus/ shared minivan is cheap .
