The hotel is conveniently located in Pattaya. Though beach is slightly far away. Easy to reach anywhere in Pattaya from here. Lots of cabs available and convenience stores at walkable distance. Safe surroundings. Has a swimming pool. Food is decent. Rooms are spacious, but not extremely well maintained. All rooms have AC and bathrooms have hot wwater and bath tubs.

Room tip: Try and go for the cottages near the swimming pool.

Royal Orchid Resort is located on a quite Soi but only a short walk away to the Beach on one side- several shops, restaurants, money changers and the main road on the other.

The Resort has a 3-star rating but the amenities provided can be well compared with any 4-star. Our Deluxe Room had a swimming pool view. The room was cozy, comfortable and came with a large bed, two chairs and a table, a lounger, tv, minibar, dressing room and ensuite bathroom. The additional facility was the walk-in shower behind our room. The toiletries were of good quility and the cleanliness was perfect.

The open plan breakfast lounge also serves buffet lunch and if there are a large group of tourists then they also serve buffet lunch. The breakfast was good and the lunch delicious with south indian food at a reasonable rate (200 bhat each for lunch).

The property is owned by a South Indian and run by a Maharashtrian. The resort is well maintained with plantation in every nook and corner. The design provides a homely look that's why we get to meet several guests during our stay there. The resort offers several tours and we took 'Nong Nooch' tour at a good price.

A Taxi stand is just on the gate of the resort, though the other means of transports are a few minutes walk away. The resort is children friendly and safe.

Room tip: Looking for transport, take outside the hotel.

This was an excellent experience staying at Royal Orchid, especially if you are travelling with kids. They can enjoy the greenery around and of course the swimming pool. One must however be prepared for little hiccups because of the language issue as the staff at the reception are also not very fluent with English. But since it belongs to an Indian, the GM operations was an Indian too, whose presence was helpful, and so was a cook/waiter from south India.
The Thai food was superb and so was the sumptuous well-laid out breakfast.
Since it is away from the high street, it is a joy to experience silence, and walk to the nearby markets is truly enjoyable. Go for it.

Room tip: Delux rooms with poolside view are excellent with jacuzzi, though other rooms are equally grand.

The hotel was nice, but I wouldn't consider it to be a 4 star. We stayed at 3 stars that were alot nicer. There were charges for anything extra when other places would give it to you complimentary like breakfast, wifi, etc. The rooms were comfortable, the pool was beautiful and the area was quiet and away from all the craziness of Pattaya. That being said, it was also very difficult to find when you're driving in a rental car, something that I would never recommend doing in this area of Thailand. We had a nice stay, there was nothing wrong with this hotel, but nothing as special as the other hotels we stayed at in Thailand. Everywhere else seemed to cater to your every whim. This place gave you the basics and even charged you for that.
