This hotel is right on the action and if you like action, this is where you need to stay.
The staff here are great and always help me out when something happened.

I do not speak or understand Thai but the staff were able to speak enough English to communicate with me and sort things out.
If you really need to get real help you must speak Thai in this country.

The room was spacious and clean even though i had ants everywhere. The staff quickyl cleaned and sprayed the room while i was out and it was much better.
As nature has it, other ants still follow the trail to the places prevous people ate and needed extra sprays.
i got the Delux Sea view room on the 9th floor. It had the views and was very quiet. Only time i hear any sort of noise was on the weekend where the speakers are turned up a notch.
There was a balcony to take in the views and very bright room.

The staff here are very good and patient with me.

This hotel is only 10 steps away from the action and 7/11. a few mins to catch a north bound baht bus from second road and also close to shopping centres and food courts.
Beach is just outside the walking street sign which is 1 min walk away.

You cant go wrong with this hotel. everything is just outside.
Just dont bother with the tours to Bangkok from Pattaya expecially if its a 50 year old woman. She was rude and pushy where i didnt enjoy the tour at all. The tour consisted of driver, her and myself. She wanted to run through the tour so quick i didnt even take many photos. The photos she took of me were of poor quality and didnt give me time to re take it.
At one point she left me a block down the road as she walked so fast.
Seems all tour agents in this town use the same people for tour. Watch out.
Only time she slowed down was when we were going to a factory of gems. i declined as that was not the reason for my tour. i wanted site seeing not to buy gems and make them money. I chose to go straight to hotel as this factory was by the bus depot north Pattaya.
Not like it was a Bangkok factory.
The service was that bad that she told the driver to drop me off at the end of the road of my hotel not outside my hotel. By this point i didnt care as its a few steps more and i was so thirsty as she didnt give me time to shop for food or water.

Going back to the hotel was nice as the staff smiles and relaxed me.
It felt like someone loved me in this country.... but then you realised that the more people you meet, they all seem to be friendly (except old tour ladies on the phone all day)
You dont have to be coming here for Sex. There are many things to do here and this hotel gives it all to you due to location.

Room tip: Must go for the best

The Grand Hotel, on Soi 14 just a few steps off Walking Street, is a good choice in the moderately-priced range. The rooms are fairly large and fairly well appointed. I found the bed to be comfortably firm. There is a small balcony from which the guest can see Pattaya Beach or Walking Street, depending which side of the building you are on. The staff is friendly and helpful. You can get a decent farang-type breakfast in the small restaurant.

Room tip: Higher floor rooms are a little quieter, and deluxe rooms appear to have been refurbished in the not too distant past - worth the extra money.

Hotel location is great, just a few steps off Walking Street. If you see the Walking Street arch, walk a few steps in and the hotel is on one of the roads on the left side. Look out for its green signboard. Since this hotel is located in Walking Street where it closes at 6pm, if you leave or arrive after 6pm, your driver may not be able to drop you off or pick you up from the hotel doorstep.

Rooms are ok as we stayed in Deluxe for THB1500. Cheaper option is Standard at THB1100. Bathroom is clogged, hairdryer is available, cleanliness is OK. Front desk could do with more smiles but they are generally quite helpful.

The location of this hotel is great. Just few steps from the Walking Street. But it makes the lower rooms a bit noisy in the night, though not too noisy to disturb sleep.
The hotel is quite old, but the deluxe rooms are refurbished and quite nice. Except the bathroom, which was in original condition.
The breakfast was made to order, Farang or Asian style.
Free and fast Wi-fi!
If it only had a swimming pool on top, where the sunbeds are, it would be great!

Room tip: Get a deluxe room from the upper floors.
