We regularly stay at the Moon Dragon and will continue to return. Rooms are the perfect size with enough room for all our suitcases. Clean, modern, light, airy rooms with a really comfortable bed. The Sunday walking street market is right at your door.

I arrived on Sunday evening with my wife and check in was seamless, although 500bht was required as a deposit. Our room is at the front (301) of the hotel and has a balcony allowing us to see the world pass by!!
The room is clean, quite spacious and has at least a queen size bed... everything works including air con. Shower is hot, tea facility's and tv has a few channels in English to help pass the time while waiting for you wife to get ready lol !!.

To be honest, we were looking for an inexpensive good base, which is nearby to the action and we got that. A good hotel with a clean room.

Ok pro's
Great location, clean, helpful, leave fruit in your room everyday.
Con's
You can hear the traffic ... if this is a problem you should ask for a room at the rear of the hotel.
Breakfast is not great in my opinion.
Pool is small but under used so ok for a little swim around. But then again, you most likely not coming here to sit by the pool all day.

Every Sunday, the roads are all closed and thousands of market stalls are erected ( right outside ). Street food is fantastic and worth a walk around.

Overall, my wife and I are very happy with Moon Dragon and happy to recommend it.

We were really unsure of where to stay in Chiang Mai having never been before but not only did we find this hotel to be a great location for us, it was a great hotel overall!
The rooms were clean and modern, as well as the overall hotel. On Sundays the night market is literally at the hotel’s door step which we loved and found some great authentic restaurants close by too!

My wife and I stayed four nights here and there was not one moment that we did not like this hotel. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone! As many others will agree, the location makes this hotel ideal for the first time visitor or veteran traveler. The touring agency that we went through was two offices away from the lobby (about 100 feet). The staff was overly helpful when it came to any request that we had. You are provided with breakfast buffet vouchers for the Thai-style buffet with was rather delightful; eggs, soup, fruit, sausage, cereal, coffee, juice, toast, pad Thai, and other delicious food options were available each morning. Each day, the cleaning staff would leave a small container of fresh fruit in our room. The shower in our room did not have a curtain to prevent water from escaping so we had to shower sitting down but this was no kink in our trip because we spent very little time in the hotel.

Moon Dragon was a decent hotel and very centrally located in the old town. We had a nice view of the Sunday walking market although our taxi couldn't get to the hotel since we arrived Sunday evening. We walked with our luggage and navigated through hordes of people for about 15 minutes. Staff were nice but not too helpful. As vegetarians, there wasn't much for breakfast. The room was small and could have used a deep clean. The pool and plant wall are nice features although we never saw anyone use the pool probably because it's mostly enclosed and doesn't get much sun.
