it is a very beautiful design and architecture. the roof is exceptionally done with layers. inside the compound it is quiet and peaceful. no doubt there are many temples in chiangmai but all the designs are different.

Very peaceful & clean grounds, the Monks were busy painting & cleaning. A lot of silver accents & there was a man on the grounds making silver pieces, possibly to replace some. Worth a look if you're in the area.

Another one of the many temples scattered in this land, if you are walking past it is worth a look see, if you have to make a special trip, you have probably already seen many simaler temples, it is a pleasant temple.

If you are looking for a truly spiratual experience in Chiang Mai ,Monk Neang at Wat Mahawan is trained to do Satyant blessed tattoos for lay people. I met Neang last year and he has done some pieces for me which were professional ( he uses only machine needles which provide a cleaner, crisper , longer lasting tattoo in my opinion vs. bamboo) and is very holy in his approach to the work. The fee you pay him, a bargain really, helps to maintain the wat and to provide Neang with some resources for his daily and health care needs.
I have many, many tattoo pieces done all over the world and can say without hesitation that the ones I obtained from Neang are of the highest standards both hygenicly and professionally.
I feel blessed that I have had the privalege of being Inked by this lovely person.

This smaller temple is easy to walk past, but the grounds are very serene and the main hall worth a look. If you are making your way down Tha Phae road stop in.
