I've booked a tour to go outside the city. The receptionist didn't care anything. Even when the tour guide try to called and make sure for my pick-up time, They just said that "we're very busy and don't call to ask reception again, it's not our job" So if this is not receptionist job, What is it?

Pros

Unique accommodation
Friendly and helpful staff
Location to walking markets. We were able to walk to both the saturday and Sunday market
Laundry service was excellent
Cleanliness of hotel

Cons

No pool. We knew this when we booked bit in hindsight as this was the place we stayed the longest it would have been nice.
Breakfast was not fantastic. Fried egg and toast or scrambled egg on toast fruit and yoghurt. Not such a problem for me but other half loves his meat

We stayed in this hotel during a break to experience the Loy Krathong /Yee Ping festival. The hotel is small in a quiet part of the old town, but only a 5 to 10 minute walk to Tha Pae Gate and the main shopping area.As you leave the hotel, turn right and turn right again to walk towards the moat and after about 5-10 minutes we found a lovely restaurant called Cafe 29 on the right hand side. Good price and friendly smiling staff. On Saturday there is a market close by called "Saturday walking street" and then on the otherside of the moat on Sunday there is a "Sunday walking street" with many bargains to be had. The staff were helpful and friendly, will certainly stay again, loved it!!

Room tip: We had room 101 which was on the ground floor at the front of the hotel, spacious rooms!

The room is very clean and spacious! Decoration is super Thai! Location is quite close to downtown. You can either take a walk about 10mins or ride bike.We had great time staying there! Hotel can also help arrange Thai spa booking

We enjoyed our stay at Jangmuang. It is located on a quiet side street, so noise is not an issue in busy Chiang Mai. The Saturday Market is well within walking distance. We took a tuk-tuk to the Sunday Market, so I'm not sure how far it was on foot. The guest house is filled with unique art so there is a lot to look at. Breakfast was delicious - a selection of fruit, tea or coffee, eggs, toast, and something extra - steamed banana/rice (yum!) or soup. Our room was spacious, clean, and had a GREAT shower. Beds are hard, as they all are in Thailand, but we slept well. The staff were all very accommodating and kind - even turning on the World Cup for us at 2 am in the lobby so we wouldn't miss a big game. You can book tours from the front desk, but if you are looking for a more unique experience and not the large tour groups, I would recommend researching and booking on your own. Overall, this is a nice budget-friendly option in Chiang Mai. I think I would give it 4 1/2 stars rather than a straight 4.
