A bit bizarre. Rooms are themed. Fun for the kids, I suppose. My room was ocean themed. There was no table/desk and chair in the room - difficult to do computer work. WiFi did not work in my room. TV remote was connected through a cable. Drinking water was missing from room. Shower head did not work - water came out in a drizzle. No A/C temperature control, just fan speed. Breakfast was mediocre.

First of all: do NOT stay here if you think this place is anywhere close to Chiang Mai - Agoda's map incorrectly placed it just east of the Ping river, and it is in fact several kilometres further south. Even better, I complained to Agoda about the misrepresentation and they summarily ignored my message - thank you very much for your professionalism Agoda! Always double-check maps against Google, which seems to be accurate more often than competing maps, otherwise you are in for some nasty surprises, at least in Thailand.

That said, the Adventure hotel is a bit of a sanctuary along the vaguely picturesque Lamphun road and in fact a good base if you are going to Lamphun and want to be half way between the train station and the airport - there is really no other benefit in terms of location, and that's pushing it. In fact, there is next to nothing around the hotel in terms of restaurants or cafes, and those that are require trekking along the side of the road loaded with heavy traffic for some ways. The hotel itself is very friendly, with a handful of themes used to create the look of each room, ranging from the gaudy to the utterly gaudy - and yet that can be loads of fun, and if you are staying in the area longer, you can change from one room to the next and have a totally different experience. While there are all sorts of neat lighting configurations in the rooms, there are no windows whatsoever in the rooms.

Keep in mind that the blue songthaew that provide the cheap transportation service into town finish around 6 or 6:30 pm, and then you are stuck getting gouged by tuktuk drivers otherwise walking the stretch, which I did a number of times. Otherwise motorcycle rentals are inexpensive and the way to go, especially if you are keen on seeings sights on the periphery of the utterly polluted and annoying town centre.

Room Tip: Get an idea of a theme you would like from the web site to narrow things down, then look at the rooms again. Keep in mind that the Jurassic and Underwater-themed rooms have specially crafted walls which are very thick and hence the wifi is terrible.

This hotel was different to any other we had stayed in anywhere. The rooms are all themed creatively and the whole hotel design looks like a movie backlot. Since they had many spare rooms we were able to move rooms when we wanted to. Since we were travelling as a family we stayed in the Underwater Suite and the Jurassic Suite. (The suite has three bedrooms, as well as a living/dining area.) Our Grandmother stayed in the Bread and Butter room and the Reflections room. The rooms were really interesting and the themes were very creative and a fun change from regular hotels. We also really enjoyed the food at the restaurant. This hotel is a bit kitsch and the rooms have no windows, and strange features such as giant squids in the ceiling in the Underwater Suite and and toy snake wrapped around the railing in the Jurassic Suite, but we found this interesting and fun. However, we do not recommend you stay here if you are not prepared for something new and different.

Room Tip: The great thing about this place is that you can change rooms if you do not like the one you originally booked. Choose a suite for a family or a deluxe if you are travelling alone or as a couple. All the Jurassic rooms have wifi problems because of the interior architecture. we do not reccommend the "Classic" room as you can go to a normal hotel for that.

This was booked as a suprise for me by my boyfriend. Booked for our last three nights in chiang mai I was sceptical but was amazingly surprised.

Due to low season they let us change rooms every day and were absolutely fine with that. We first stayed in space then jurassic then finally under the Sea.

All rooms were fab, and little touches made a big difference.

All beds and pillows were very comfy and the shower was adequate (better than most but not strong power).

We payed just under £15 a night through agoda and that came with breakfast which was yummy and big! You get three choices-american, continental and thai.

We had American that came with loads including a plate of fruit aswell as your big plate. The fried eggs were perfectly runny and the people in the restaurant were lovely, friendly and very appeasing.

When we changed rooms, the maid was immediately there offering to help us with our things, infact every staff member seemed genuinely happy to help and we're very friendly.

The location was abit further out but totally worth it. Tuc tucs varied in price to and from the main town area ranging from 60baht-150baht but you can def haggle with them, on average you don't want to pay more than 100baht but in rush hour no more than 150.

We wish we could have stayed longer to try out all the other rooms. Thank you for a lovely stay!!

Paid 1,169 Baht for a Deluxe Double Bed. Chose a reflection room and had mirrors all over. Very cool design. The staff drove us to our room on a simple cart. Room has no window. Spacious bathroom. Wash basin is outside the bathroom. Toilet is in another room. It's like a love hotel converted from a motel/drive-in or curtain hotel. I like the design a lot. I wish I could stay in the spaceship or "The Night of 1001" room next time. Simple breakfast included in the room rate. Around the hotel I could find some local foods. I chose this hotel as I don't want to stay in the center. The room is not new but is ok to stay. The Lobby and restaurant are very bright, colorful and modern. Staff performance is good. Would stay again as I love the cool design.
