My girlfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights and had a wonderful experience. We were able to see the children's foundation, enjoy a cooking class and have a wonderful massage. The staff is very friendly. The rooms are very nice and very clean. You will not regret it by staying here - you many even learn a thing or two.

I am so fortunate to have found joy's house for my stay in chiang Mai. The place is so special. The people are friendly, outgoing and extremely welcoming. The rooms are spacious, very clean and quiet. We weren't planning on visiting the farm (children's foundation) however, we're able to squeeze it in- definitely one of the best decisions of the trip. You get to connect with the children, learn about where they came from and really gain an understanding of how amazing Joy's house and the children's foundation really are. Although the children came from troubled pasts you get the opportunity to see how happy thy are now and how eager they are to learn. They are all affectionate and kind in their own ways. I highly recommend visiting the farm!

I also did a Thai cooking class at Joy's house, which is a great experience and leaves you stuffed! The massaged are also to die for.

Overall a great experience. I will definitely be back in the near future. If you are visiting Thailand I highly recommend you make one for chiang Mai and Joy's house!

Flight from Beijing to Chamg Mai to joint my wife and son David for one week holiday at Joy's house, we've had great time there with excellent people whom served us during our stay, we have traveled around but never had such experience with a gourp of kids whom grow up at Joy's house and her farm. Peaceful, friendly people with excellent food, just felt like home.

Advice to any traveller from China that Joy's house is not a usual luxury 5 star hotel like what you have see in China, however, the comfort, the way owner hosted their guests is more than any 5 star hotel i have ever seen, so be prepared to experience and enjoy the different atmosphere with Thai people and learn from them "Be NICE and Polite", I am sure you will love it.

Room Tip: choose the room right next to the pool if you have kids of enjoy the swim

We have been spending 20 days in Thailand and visited several great places from North to South with our 14 y.o. son. Our preferred time is definitely our 7 days stay with Joy's family. We were picked up by Bee at the airport. Arriving at Joy's House, we were kindly welcomed by Joy herself and the kids who introduced themselves individually. Each day we had activities with Joy's teenagers, such as visiting Chiang Mai city and several lovely places (temples, markets, cafe...) with Wow and Nut, massage with Nao, cooking lessons with Joy and Bua etc... We did the 3-days journey in the North of Thailand with Sert (Golden Triangle), who is the kindest person ever met!! Everything was included: 2 nights in guest-houses (simple but confortable), meals, visits etc. In all the activities, we were only the 3 of us accompanied by one or two of Joy's teens. We are absolutely delighted by our experience at Joy's House and we will never forget it. If you are just looking for a place where to sleep, it's ok (nice rooms, good food, pool etc) but you'll miss something really special and might regret that the house is a bit far from the city center. Thanks to you all in Joy's family. We will keep in touch! Isabelle, Eric & Theo from France

We spent 4 nights at Joy’s house at end of July and early Aug. We were not disappointed. My 10 years old son started to like the place very soon after we arrived at Joy’s House. The special part of the place is that it gives you a feeling of “home” and you are treated as part of family.

If you like to ride a bicycle, you can take one and go on your ride anytime. My son took the cooking class and passed his food to other guests to taste, other guests did the same… Every evening, the young people at Joy’s play guitars and many guests enjoy singing along with them. Kids stay at Joy’s house start to play with each other very quickly; even some of them don’t speak the same language…

We stayed at Elephant room for 3 nights and King room for 1 night. My son liked the Elephant room as the pool is on front of it. I liked King Room as it is quite and well decorated. It sits in the corner of the house. Both rooms are vary large and comfortable.

We also went to the shelter children farm which is about one hr drive from ChiangMai. Children there are amazing well mannered, very lovely and the place is beautiful. My son loved to play with the children there and enjoyed the swim in the little river.

We are back with our wonderful memories from our stay in ChiangMai.

I think family with children should enjoy the place the most. Also as Chinese travelers, Joy's house stay is quite different from our traveling experience in China. Although we had a wonderful stay at Joy’s house, I should say it may not be a suitable place for everyone, such as, people like to be around the crowd of old city or people who are seeking luxury hotel style staying. As in China, travelers mostly staying in large hotels(or resorts), people may want to read the reviews and understand what you gain from staying in Joy’s before booking..
