We stayed in Bangkok for 2 days and chose this hotel for its location, the price was very good also it cost us £40 GBP for 2 nights.
The room was clean and tidy , the staff were very polite, this hotel is positioned just right, you have the massive Plaza 21 shopping mall only a few hundred yards from it where you can get some good bargains and try the food , a must is the food on the lower level dirt cheap satay stick 15 baht, or the noodle bar on the 6th floor which i thought had charged me wrong as the price was so cheep, a meal was 70 baht.

Overall a great location if you are staying for a couple of days.

Room tip: Room have no views

This is a typical boutique hotel. Not big on amenities but more than makes up on comfort, cleanliness & ideal location. Its a stone throw away from Asok station which makes commuting to other parts of Bangkok very convenient. A family mart & 7 eleven close by , don't hurt it either.
The room is largeish & quite comfortable without being luxurious. There are a decent number of English T.V. channels on the telly which is a big relief compared to some other hotels. In the platinum room they provide a microwave & quite a large fridge as well. The bathrooms are tastefully done with all the fittings looking absolutely new.
The only drawback to this hotel is its breakfast. Due to logistics , the kitchen is located somewhere upstairs & so all the food like eggs for e.g. are served cold. Nothing worse than a cold greasy fried egg to kill your appetite. The staff do try their hardest to please but I'm afraid that they have to come up with a better solution. ( An induction stove top is the simple answer ).
I would definetely recommend this hotel.

Room tip: If you're a non smoker than ask for a room on the non smoking floor.

My trip was for 5-days initially, because of circumstances I ended up staying 11 days. The whole experience at The Key was good. The front office team are good and help without any problem at all. The breakfast is minimal, but adequate, and I actually liked it, rather than huge buffets.

Another reviewer refers to The Key as being "quaint", I absolutely agree and even think 'quirky' covers it as well!!

Great room - Master Suite, exactly what I need for extended stays as there is enough room to work as well. Therefore no sense of 'cabin fever' due to being in a small room. The 'quirky' thing about this huge room is that the bathroom is smaller than many other hotel wardrobes!!!

The location is spot-on, BTS/MRT, Terminal 21 (my new favorite eating place in Bangkok, particularly FallaBella on level 5), Sukhumvit Road and all the attractions that holds and Robinson 'Tops' supermarket a few yards away (the salad bar is excellent and half the price of T21 Gourmet Market).

Another good value is the airport pick-up drop-off, the drivers are good and the vehicle a very well maintained Camry. Far better than the AOT (airport lime) or using a taxi.

I will be back!!

Room tip: One thing that was odd, is the difficulty in extending a booking in-house. I had a very confusing time, the staff were extremely helpful and everything worked out. Anyway, make sure you talk to the front desk about room choice. If you need the best rooms make sure you request at the time of booking.

Nice small hotel with a great location, next to Terminal (one of the biggest mall in Bangkok )
You can take bts or MRT within steps away.
Easy access to Siam, Silom, etc ( with BTS) or Cak tu cak market (with MRT )

My husband and I stayed here on my first trip to Bangkok! It was such a quaint little hotel with tremendous amenities and friendly staff. If you are traveling to BKK and don't want to spend and obscene amount of money on lodging this is the place to go. The room was spacious, with partitioned sections. The bed was comfy, clean sheets and towels, beautiful decor. It is located down an ally but do not let that throw you, it really is a great place.
