Fully re-opened after the fire nearly 2 years ago, this 7 floor, 2 attrium extravaganza is the best place to shop for almost everything. Central Department store, a few blocks away, is the best overall department store.

The holy-land for shopaholics, Central World is spacious enough to keep everybody occupied for a full day with myriad world-class shopping stores, tasty cuisine houses and other finest entertainment activities. Anyhow, the most outstanding trait of this one-stop mall is its touristy vicinity.

Within walking distance, you can reach other enormous commercial complexes, such as Siam Paragon, Gayson Shopping Center, Big C Supercenter and Isetan. Still, you shall be more impressed and interested in the shopping street in front of the Central World building whereat hordes of unique souvenirs, inexpensive clothing and local snacks are ready to amaze your Thailand excursion.

What is more, Central World is conveniently neighbored with numerous public transportation stations which are bound for Chinatown, Victory Monument and Khao San (bus), for Chao Phraya River (sky train) and for international airport (express train at Siam station).

A stroll to Bangkok, be it short or long, should be tagged with Central World to sightsee a real pulse of vibrant Thai life.

unfortunately Zen Department store was still closed for the 2nd year while I was there. Very dissappointing as I had been told it would re-open in Jan.2011

I remember Central World a good 7 years ago when it was just an average mall. After it was burned a few years ago and restored, it has become a destination. This mall is probably the biggest in Asia. It has 3 atriums, 4 bookstores, an ice skating rink, cinemas, hundreds of stores and restaurants and cinemas. Most of all it houses 2 department stores, one of which is Zen (my favorite), I love this mall!
