great location but the hotel is in need of an update. Room was tiny. Sheets were torn and had cigarette burns on them (we were in a non-smoking room). Breakfast was only so-so - and that was before the cockroach scuttered across the floor - needless to say that we didn't try another meal there. Management needs to spend a few more Baht and fix the place up a bit. Hotel has the possibilities to be very charming but falls short.

Booked online and they were expecting us. Room clean, if not a little tired. Breakfast is good with the best omelets I have had for a while. Location is good with many places to eat nearby. Staff do not speak much English, but not a problem. It would have been good to have a map of Chinatown provided. I would stay here again.

Room tip: Dragon room good for 3 people with a lot of space for luggage. Make sure the windows are closed. Ours was open on the first night, so a bit noisy.

Centrally located in Chinatown on one of the main roads (but rooms are not much noise effected), but due to the relativ near distance to the railway station (and Gold Buddha museum) a good location.
The rooms are not big but for one night big enough. Coffe+tea making facilities in room, but you have to pay for the instant coffe set.
Advantage was also, that I could move into my room in the morning.

We always stay here when in Bangkok, it's a mid range hotel, a bit dated, pretty clean, with an old lift, great staff, a decent breakfast & one of the best locations in town, if you can handle the sheer volume of people & traffic!Getting lost in the amazingly busy side streets is a great experience!
Every evening street resturants appear serving mostly seafood, they are the reason to stay here, busy, uncomplicated quality eating, for 500 baht each! This is the real Bangkok.
Best way to get around is to walk 15 minutes to river taxi stop 5 & catch a boat to the other main attractions, the traffic is hopeless& tuk-tuks a ripoff!(meter taxis are really good & surprisingly inexpensive if you need wheels) Don't stay too long, the sheer intensity of the place wears you down, 3 days is plenty!

We found this hotel in the Lonely Planet guide and it turned out to be perfect! Located in central Chinatown, the view from the room was great, looking down onto all the life of the street. Very friendly and helpful staff, nice English-Chinese breakfast in the morning and VERY easy to find a taxi from this place. Our room had a mini bar, tv, nice bathroom, hot water, and great AC. Staying in Chinatown is definitely worth the experience and this hotel was a great find for the price. Close to the famous Chinatown market and delicious street stalls.
