Owner description: Bangkok’s answer to mass transit started operating in December 1999 and is a convenient and useful way of getting around the city.

great for getting around but lots of steps to rail level and only occasional elevators. Tickets are cheap but you need 5 and 10 baht coins to buy them, though there are manned booths to give change.

Thank elegy

nothing to dislike. Once you have the change sorted it's dead easy and almost a tourist attraction in itself. Oftne just go for a ride round to have a look at different parts of the city...often the track is very high up for great views

Skytrain is a fast and reliable public transport in bangkok at a cheap cost, 20-40TB depending on the distance.
It can take you to a number of tourist attactions:
1) National Stadium -> Jim Thompson House
2) Mo Chit -> Chatuchak Market
3) Saphan Taksin -> River bus -> Grand palace
4) Siam (interchange) -> main shopping area, e.g. Paragon
It can be quite crowded during peak hours and weekends.

And it is my first time seeing priority seat for monks. You can easily tell Thai monks are highly respected in the country.
