Very comfortable and staffs are very accommodating. The hotel doesn’t have a swimming pool for the guests but overall you’ll be comfortable in staying because they have a good and clean rooms. I love the bathtub!

The staff is always kind and helpful. The rooms are cleaned daily and fast. The restaurant has a good menu and when its raining and you don't feel like going out you can always find something to eat here. The breakfast is superb with plenty of choices. My only complaint is the safe in the room, they are old and don't really work for the most part.

How on earth is this a 3 star hotel???? Amazed. It would pass for 5* plus in Europe. Lovely staff. Beautifully clean rooms. On 9th floor with views around Bangkok.
Just had dinner in the room looking over the skyline. Wonderful.

We enjoyed an excellent and enjoyable stay for 3 nights approximately 4 weeks ago.

Transport
We landed in Suvarnabhumi Airport at 13:30 and decided to catch the airport link and BTS, which I would highly recommend to those travelling on a budget or enjoy using public transport. We caught the rail link (45 BHT = £1) to Phayathai Station and changed on to the BTS to Chong Nonsi via a change at Siam (33 BHT = £0.79). It was then a 1Km walk to the hotel, which we found easily with no phone data/maps! We were carrying 15Kg bags and found the walk fine. The total journey took less than an hour.

Location
The hotel is situated just off Silom Road (Silom 22). The daytime receptionist had very good English and provided us with a map and advised us on how best spend our time in Bangkok. The hotel is situated about a 20 minute walk from Sathorn Pier, which will enable you to catch a ferry to the Grand Palace, Wat Arun and Wat Pho. We were advised that a tuk tuk to Khao San Road should be about 150 BHT (we paid 250 BHT and some drivers request 300 BHT). We used the BTS from Chong Nonsi to visit the Malls, Jim Thompson’s House and Lumpini Park (highly recommend renting a swan pedalo – 40 BHT for 30 minutes), which was cheap, easy and quick.

There is plenty of street food options (literally behind the 7-Eleven opposite the hotel), restaurants (Western and local cuisine) and sky bars within walking distance. The 7-Eleven has all essentials at a reasonable price.

Check-in
We arrived at approximately 4pm and were greeted with a drink and bell boys, who were insistent on taking our bags. All ran very smoothly.

Room
Great walk in shower and comfortable bed, which was silent at night. We were lucky to have a great view over Bangkok from our room. The air-conditioning was also acceptably noisy.

Breakfast
Great mix of local and Western cuisine. You can order eggs to liking: omelette, scrambled or fried. There is a toaster to cook bread and plenty of fresh fruit available (melon and pineapple). The self-service options included local cuisine of rice and noodles, which were tasty. Coffee, tea and juice was also available.

Staff
The English of the receptionist during the daytime was very good and the hotel provided an email address to us to send our boarding cards for printing for free. We found everyone very friendly and welcoming.

Summary
An excellent choice for couples/parties wanting to stay in a great value for money hotel and willing to walk and use public transport to get around the city and gain a real taste of Bangkok. I would certainly have no issues in returning to Silom City Hotel!
