“just ok for a short stay”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 March 2012

stayed at this hotel for 1 night after returning from Vietnam. chosen as it was close to the railway station, and i was leaving on the train the next day. The room and bathroom were ok.
Breakfast not as good as other hotels and quite limited.

This hotel is ok for a transit stop but I would not choose to stay there for any length of time.

Located close to the railroad and subway station, this hotel offers a fairly good place to explore Bangkok from. There are two parts to this hotel, the good part with nice rooms, and the not-so-good part with dark shabby rooms located in what seems to be an annex. If you find yourself in this part, protest and get an upgrade. Breakfast is fine. Pool is good, but mostly in the shade. Wifi is expensive which is annoying and it should be free. Lots of cheaper internet cafes nearby. Front desk tries to be helpful but for a large hotel, their English should be better.

Room Tip: Stay out of the annex. Rooms are dark and shabby and a difficult walk up stairs. It is their overf...

Stayed here two separate stays in Summer of 2011 (first time for 3 nights, second time for 1 night), as a stopover between tours.

Very basic rooms. Lighting is very dim in hallways and bedrooms. For the price, expected a more modern and spacious room. The 2 elevators for the hotel are NOT enough when tour groups are here...gets way too busy.

Would not recommend, you can find alot better value in Bangkok, and get more bang for your buck. You can find 4.5 stars for about $20-25/night more.

This hotel is ok for a short stay, no more. Its very close to the metro system and the main train station is directly opposite, which is probably the only reason to choose it. The room we got on our first stay here was better than the 2nd. It was clean, whereas the next time, we were given a room at the back of the hotel on the 3rd floor which was very shabby with peeling wallpaper, and the sheets felt a little bit sticky! On our arrival, there was a guest reporting the presence of a rat under the settee on the 3rd floor. Thankfully on this occasion we were on the 8th. Plenty of tuk tuks available outside. The wifi is expensive @ $8 for two hours. How come? We travelled extensively throughout Indochina in some very remote towns who gave free wifi... so, presumably its just a money making swizz. Ona final note, dont be fooled by the books.... usually you leave one and take one? Not here..... my husband was followed back to reception by a member of staff who rudely informed him he couldnt take a book! He said ok then, but he would take his donated book back then.... and she tried to say no, it wasnt his! He retreived it anyway. Not good public relations!

Room Tip: Higher floor might reduce the possibilty of a rat ( as seen on floor 3) and keep to the main part of...

We have stayed as part of our tour and the great thing i could say about this hotel is the fact you can leave your luggages with the bell boy - go to your tour and come back to collect it after 10 days. Its not centrally located, room is very basic. Staff was trying to sell me a 2 hours internet when I said I only need it for 5 mins, luckily there was another guest right next to me said she bought a 15 mins internet the otherday. Staff then amitted and said there is a 15 mins that i can buy instead of the 2 hours....
