“Nice stay”
Reviewed 13 July 2012

Our stay here was wonderful. The hotel is fantastic. The service very friendly and rooms very comfortable. The location is a little far from the main city area. Other than that everything was very good.

The hotel is situated on the Chao Praya river in a quiet area of Bangkok but only a 20 minute ride away on the complimentary shuttle boat which runs every 30 minutes. This takes you to the Sathorn pier from which access is easy to visit all the sights. The boat ride is a pleasure in itself.
We have stayed here before when the hotel was managed by the Marriott group. The hotel was good then but is even better now. The rooms are spacious and are beautifully furnished. The riverview ones are to be recommended and are worth paying the extra amount. It is interesting to watch life on the busy river with lots of heavily laden barges passing by.
The dining options are extensive with something to please everyone. We dined at Trader Vic's, the Longtail bar and the riverside terrace. All were excellent. As a special treat on our last night we wined and dined on the Manohra Rice Barge whilst cruising along the river and seeing all the sights. The Wat Arun temple is spectacular at night and was our favourite. Lunch was taken by the pool and be sure not to miss happy hour from 4 o'clock when the drinks are two for the price of one. The pool itself is large and inviting.
We stayed at the beginning of February and returned at the end of the month when we were upgraded to a Premier Riverside Room which was the perfect way to finish our holiday.
When we return, soon, it will be to this beautiful hotel where we find everything perfect and the staff are so caring, attentive and friendly.
We plan to stay at other Anantara hotels in Thailand when we come next time. Thailand is certainly the land of smiles.

Room Tip: Choose a riverside room especially the ones right by the river.

My boyfriend and I stayed for three nights at the end of June. From start to finish the service was wonderful. The hotel itself is huge and lovely - there is so much space and it is extremely tranquil. I felt we had a great deal of privacy which is not what you always expect from a resort property and it was a wonderful bonus. Room wise the views are great, the beds are comfy and again there is a lot of space. Breakfast was really very good too. I am not big on all the cooked stuff but had plenty to get through in the yummy baked section including muffins, croissants and... ahem...cookies!! My boyfriend had about twelve courses each day and was busy getting through everything from eggs to dim sum!

My favourite bit about the hotel was the amazing river boat service. It leaves every half hour and zooms you along to the very good Sky Train station or the new shopping/eating resort Asiatique. The chocolate cafe was pretty yum too!! We had chocolate cakes and hot chocolate quite late one evening and the service was still perfect.

All in all don't hesitate to book in here. Fantastic value and fantastic experience. Truly excellent.

Stayed here as great deal on a hotel website and thought would be good to stay Riverside. It was handy to have hotel shuttle boat drop you at pier then very short walk to Bangkok Sky train. Train system is great and very easy to use.
I decided to pay extra for Kasara club as had booked room only . This has lots of inclusions. Spa discount, breakfast, Evening cocktail and tasty assorted snacks every evening. Also afternoon tea daily. Lovely to relax in lounge after day sightseeing and shopping . The service was great. Spa is very good but feel too expensive .
The hotel didn't supply a lot of information re ferry times or that has shuttle to Asiatique, new dining shopping area about 10 minutes away( Had to ask them for timetable ).They will drop you there and pick you up . Recommend Asiatique ,great dining and well priced shopping. Some prices cheaper than in Bangkok shopping Malls and good selection. Most comfortable bed of my Asian trip and always a treat in a little basket with nightly turn down service. (chocolate one night. lovely tart another ) Would recommend if you don't mind not being close to Shopping Mall area.

Room Tip: My Deluxe room was probably least expensive one but still very comfortable.

Could not recommend this hotel enough. Was a little concerned at first with location. Checking in was easy, staff could not assist enough. Brilliant Bakery definatley recommend for sure, especially for ham & cheese croisants for the early morning flight. Brilliant restaurants at the back of the hotel, they have all options, sizzlers, pizza a couple of thai restaurants both brilliant, and more stores and basic shops. The pool area is great, although we went in more of a quiet time so there was plenty of room. Getting to the skytrain was a breeze, the river taxi is excellent very reliable and easy. Just becareful when getting off at the sky train as you will get tour guides and men dressed in suits telling you that it is not operating due to the royal family being in town, just ignore them, they are trying to get your business. All day pass for the skytrain is good if you are heading to weekend markets or just checking out Bangkok. We had a river View room, would defininately do that again. There is nothing I could fault with this hotel, it is definately an oasis in the middle of a crazy city that can leave you a bit frazzeled by the end of the day. The staff were wonderful thanks for making our stay everything we wanted we will be back again.

Room Tip: Would get the river view rooms, worth paying the extra.
