This place has a history, being the area where the Danish east asiatic company had storage buildings etc. but hardly anything is left of that. There is however still some different atmosphere, next to the river etc, but it rather feels now like a designed tourist trap. Prices are high but not above high end hotels, but there is very little to do there, except buying overpriced souvenirs and food. In other words, this is not where you find the soul of Bangkok.
