“Nice New Hotel”
Reviewed 17 April 2012

Brand new hotel in the heart of Bangkok. Could not be more convenient to the Skytrain or MBK Shopping Mall which is a perfect location for a tourist. This is a no frills hotel. Minor gripes were no bar soap or shampoo bottles in the bathroom (they had European style wall mounted dispensers which I don't particularly like) and a sub par breakfast compared with other Asian hotels (but better than an American Holiday Inn Express). Probably my biggest gripe was the line for check-out. The system they are using looks like it is out of the last century - file folders being passed around by an overworked staff containing Xerox copies of passports. Makes you appreciate the bill slipped under your door system HI Express uses in the USA, only visit the front desk if there is a problem with the already processed bill.

On the plus side was (as mentioned) the excellent location, the price, and the clean rooms and common areas. I would absolutely stay here again as the plus far outweigh the minuses, some of which will probably be worked out after a few more months of operation.

Room Tip: The cheapest room was small. If they bothers you maybe you should book one of the higher priced room...

The selling point is the location - 5 mins walk to National Stadium BTS station and MBK. This hotel is very new, opened in mid March 2012 so generally it's very clean and new. However some of the workmanship of the interior decor isn't very well done. Rooms are small at 23sqm but is good enough to rest after a long day of walking and shopping. Amenities such as toothbrush/paste, body lotion are provided upon request at hotel reception. The rooms are not sound proof, could hear the train from the room which can be disturbing especially in the morning. Paid the room at their opening promo with good bargain - S$100/nite inclusive of taxes and buffet breakfast. The breakfast isn't very wide spread but is good enough to start the day in BKK. The breakfast area is nice and bright with natural light from floor to ceiling windows overlooking the stadiums.

Check-in for our group of 17 (we were on a 7-night cruise itinerary from Singapore that had an overnight stay in Bangkok) was a bit cumbersome for the staff, it took them a good 20-30 minutes to process our reservations, after which my family of 4 was given keys to adjoining rooms on the 9th floor, one with a king size bed for me and the better half, and the other key with 2 single beds for our grown up daughters.

The room was very modern, with free wi-fi and everything you would expect from a 4-star hotel such as this. The bathroom was likewise done with modern trimmings and functioned quite well.

As this was only an overnight stay for our group, we had little time to enjoy our room. Buffet breakfast the following morning on the 7th floor was ample, not a lavish spread, but was enough to satisfy our hungry group as we prepared to return to Laem Chabang Port to continue our cruise to Koh Samui and Singapore.

Over-all, it was an excellent stay, the hotel's location being very ideal for shoppers as it was only less than 100 meters away, opposite the humongous MBK Mall.

Will most likely be back to stay at this hotel for the great location, good facilities and service with a smile. Our group enjoyed the complimentary use of 2 Mac Desktop computers at the lobby.

Room Tip: We went on the Chao Phraya River Dinner Cruise for the second time, and it did not fail to impress...

Stayed for 2 nights over the Good Friday weekend. Location was excellent as it was just 5 min away from National Stadium BTS and MBK shopping centre. Hotel is no frills so a pretty good choice if you are not going to spend a lot of time in the hotel. There is free wifi throughout the hotel which is a big plus! Spacious shower area in the bathroom, comfortable bed and many channels on the tv. Breakfast is included and there are continental and asian options, was the same over the 2 days I was there so maybe you could head out for your own. Very helpful reception staff who helped make restaurant bookings and taxi bookings.
