We stayed at the MHC for a week in March 2012, from getting out of the taxi the staff (Garr & Raymond) checked us in and took our bags to our room. We booked the Superior Room which was at the top of the hotel (quite a few steps up to the room so for the older guests might be better getting a room on the 2nd floor depending on your fitness).
The room is large clean & tidy; no road noise as its situated away a few hundred yards away from the road. Max the owner of the MHC (retired pilot) was fantastic to have a good banter with on a morning and has a wealth of knowledge of Bangkok, if your ever stuck with somewhere to go / do he will point you in the right direction and tell you how much it will be to get there.
If we go to BKK again we will definitely stay here again for the price you cannot find a cheaper / cleaner Guesthouse which offers the same service in Bangkok!
Turn left out of the guesthouse onto the main road there is a 7/11 5 minutes walk also next to the 7/11 there is a Skytrain that will take you all over Bangkok.More
