Description: The Rain Tree Café has been reconceived in a modern interpretation of Thai neo-colonial interior décor + style. Three separate but complementary spaces evidencing extreme elegance and making excellent use of natural light are interwoven with threads of touching homeliness. These three unique areas are cleverly interwoven and are aptly named: The Bronze Kitchen upgraded with interactive live cooking stations, The Valaya Room with its formal library-style "VIP" space and The Secret Garden for more private affairs. Enjoy an inspiring voyage of discovery on our stunning international buffet that also features five specialty dishes of the day from our specialist head chefs. Service for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Sunday Brunch and Dessert Buffet.

Buffets in Bangkok are usually hit-and-miss but not this one - excellent! Great service, wonderful ambience, not too pricey, what more could you want?!

“best buffet ever!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 April 2012

had seen this on trip advisor and knew we had to try when we were heading to Bangkok....OMG best buffet dinner i have ever had - lobster/king crab/oysters/green lipped mussels/caviar/steaks - even the salads were amazing - crab salad/prawn salad etc....dont even get me started on the desserts - they were so delicious - nothing was too much trouble for the staff - we had a brillant time.....tables were a good distance apart so it didnt feel like sizzler - beautiful hotel and setting....

“Now that's what I call a lunch !!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 April 2012

Having read about it here on TripAdvisor, went to the Rain Tree for the buffet lunch on Easter Sunday. For a starter, the name Rain Tree Cafe is misleading, this is a super elegant place of great proportions and great spacing between the tables in the very tasteful environment of The Atheneum (a Meriden hotel). Easy to get-to, just at the top of the Sukhimvit Road (Soi 1 / 2 end).

The selection of food was astounding (and beautifully presented): Maine Lobster; Fine du Claire Oysters, Caviar, Sushi, Wagyu Roast, Fois Gras Cones, whole baby roast lamb, cheeses, puddings and deserts, etc etc = awesome. And ..... free-flow anything you could ask for including cocktails and fizzy.

Nice unobtrusive live jazz and the service was charming and impeccable. The bill for all that ? Very very reasonable (B3000 or US$85 a head). Over the years I've been to many Sunday buffet lunches around the world but this one impressed me most.

HEARTILY RECOMMENDED !!!
