Had to stay here because of touroperator Riksja Travel Netherlands. The from rate per night on booking of €21 was already alarming, especially coming from a 5 star service hotel on Koh Pangan.

A booked hotel shuttle costs 100 baht/person, unless you see Paragon as a good cause, take the airport taxi for 125 baht. Be prepared to venture through an interesting alley that seems a combination of construction depot and an upgraded ghetto.

The reception lady and porter are the last friendly faces you'll see. 3 bar ladies and no one to tend to at the bar but don't expect service further than the bar, they're very territorial.

Rooms 37/38 are probably former garages, because other tenants (yes some people live here) have a garage next to their apartment that looks just like ours. At night you can enjoy the engine sounds. Rooms only feature a door handle lock that's lock picking course 101. No dead bold or anything close.

Dinner was an experience too. RBF will take your order, although she's rather doing something outside the hospitality industry, something with less human interaction. Order spaghetti Bolognese if you're interested to see how that works out with slaughter leftovers. My son just are the spaghetti. I had Tom Ka Kai with more non edible than edible ingredients.
Enjoy the music as if you're right there at the rave.

With the pool including the floating beds, it's a fair value for money. If you have more to spend and want a warm Thai smile, decent food and sleep in something better than an upgraded garage box, go elsewhere.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your candid comments about your stay at our hotel and we hope you enjoyed your visit here to Thailand and to beautiful Koh Pha-ngan.

Dear Guests,

We always appreciate when our guests leave reviews as it gives us an opportunity to continuously improve our service for the many guests that choose to stay with us. Unfortunately, we do receive poor reviews from time to time and we feel this is also an opportunity to ensure we give you the other side of the story :).

We certainly don’t pretend to be a five-star hotel and we are very proud of the facilities and service we offer for what we believe is a very reasonable rate. As a small family run hotel, we pride ourselves on our authentic Thai hospitality and fantastic facilities including our extensive gardens, open-air bar and restaurant, and super fun swimming pool and lounge area.

We do take exception to the description of our neighborhood offered by this gentleman’s review. We prefer to refer to it as our home and many guests enjoy a walk down our local roads to enjoy the local food being sold by the many independent food carts in operation. Our hotel is located just 15 minutes from Suvarnabhumi International Airport and just a few streets from the popular and busy Paseo shopping plaza with a wide selection of restaurants and including popular favorite Starbucks.

It’s also important for us to point out that the rooms are certainly not converted from garages. We do have guests that choose to live at the Paragon Inn and we are very proud they have chosen to do so. We have a large parking lot at the back of the hotel and that is where they park. All our rooms are built for purpose and we have just finished a round of renovations to many of the rooms, which we think you will like :).

We agree that dinner is always an experience :). We offer traditional Thai dishes in our restaurant and thanks to our many Western visitors we also offer a growing selection of western dishes too. It’s very common in Thailand to choose a selection of dishes to share and Tom Ka Kai is a traditional Thai herbal soup and is supposed to be served exactly as the gentleman suggests. We can also assure you that our spaghetti is made, not from left-overs, but from locally sourced ground-beef and prepared with the careful advice of many Western guests and their young families who have visited over the years. Perhaps it’s fair that we mention this gentleman ordered three spaghetti dishes and then said he didn’t want to pay… just saying ;). That and they asked us to turn off the sound system and our relaxing music, while our other guests were enjoying it.

Above of all we always invite our guests to speak to our staff if anything is not as they wish. In Thailand, we pride ourselves on our world-renown reputation for being the land of smiles. When you visit the Paragon Inn you aren’t just visiting any hotel, you are visiting my families home and our family-run hotel. It’s our pleasure to ensure that before you depart you leave well rested, with a full belly, and a smile to carry you home :)

A very good stay! Courteous & helpful staff. In the beginning, AC in my room was not working, they sent someone right away to fix it. In the end, they offered me another room. Very efficient & practical, wanting to make sure their guests are happy.

We were pleasantly surprised.
5-10 min drive from airport, conveniently located, yet still a rather resort-style hotel with nice pool, outdoor dining areas and lots of greenery. Some small eateries just outside.
Our “normal” rooms were ok, nothing to write home about. But the rooms directly at the pool seemed really nice.

Stayed for 1 night to transit through Bangkok. Checked in very late after 23h00, no issues. Room big with all amenities. Basic but functional. Staff friendly and helpful. Used hotel shuttle back to airport, same price as a taxi.

The staff are exceedingly helpful & polite. The hotel location is nice for a stop-over of 1 or 2 days maximum. Rooms clean and quiet with good space. Linen is clean and fresh.

There are no shopping malls or places to spend time at for miles around. So the pool and TV may help fill the 8 or 10 hrs before ones flight.

The hotel is at the far far end of a soi. If you want to reach the main road its a 10 mins walk each way.

Sadly although the hotel caters largely to foreigners transiting thru Suvarnabhumi Airport it offers not a single English TV Channel (nor any other foreign language TV channel). There are a dozen local Thai language stations - free to air. But, No BBC, No CNN, No NHK, No NatGeo, No Music.......nothing. Very briefly for 30 mins two Thai language channels showed something in English. After 30 mins both channels returned to Thai.

Why would a hotel which caters largely to international travelers - most of whom do not speak Thai - try to reduce costs by not having cable TV. Instead overseas travelers most of whom do not speak Thai are offered a dozen Thai language TV channels all free-to-air ?? Where is the customer care here ?? Why is cable TV seen as too expensive to offer ??

So if a customer wants to chill out for a few hours before resuming ones journey then staring at 4 walls in the absence of any other entertainment is what the hotel offers.

If ur looking to relax for 8 hours or so then sleep a few hrs before going to the airport be aware that there is no English TV and the hotel location means there is nothing around for miles unless one catches a taxi and heads towards Bkok.

I had 8 to 10 hours of being bored to death. As a resident of Thailand and having stayed at 50+ hotels around Bkok it was the 1st time I'd stayed at a hotel which wants foreigners transiting to come stay but offers no cable TV. You have lots of other hotels to choose from which offer cable. But if u decide to stay at Paragon Inn plan ur stay lest you may end up very bored staring at 4 walls or simply staring at Thai-language TV if you do not speak Thai !!
