Where do I start with this hotel? It is a 4 star hotel but should really be classed as a 5 star!!
We stayed in the Hansar hotel, which is classed as a 5 star but it doesn't have a patch on the service in the Chatrium!

Pros:
Suites are huge.
Unbelievable view.
Lovely balcony.
Friendly staff that try to do everything they can for you.
Rooftop pool.
Massive breakfast selection-fruits, cereals, sausages, rashers etc. and asian - I even saw vindaloo one morning!
The hotel even has their own free boat service to the sky train.
The hotel arranged for a blacked out jeep to bring us to a tailors the first night and then to a restaurant.

Cons:
Bit far away from everything but so are all riverside hotels...
No kitchen pots. We asked for these during our stay and never heard back  which I thought was poor!
We ordered room service and 3 phone calls and 2 hours later it arrived...cold!
This lets the hotel down considering how brilliant everything else is!

This time we only stayed 3 nights. We were on the 32nd floor the room had a fantastic 180 degree view. If you pay a little extra, its very good value for money with benefits. We had second to none service from all the staff from check-in to check-out.
Our thanks to you all. Tharon- Arranged a day's Fishing for us at our request but we couldn't take it up as we didn't leave ourselves enough time.
Kim - Sorted out our photo disk which was not working on the system. Thank you guy's for all your help!!

Room Tip: Rooms on the 32nd floor are well worth paying that little extra for.

We stayed in this lovely hotel for 5 nights during February 2012. The lobby and the grounds are very beautiful. We were asked to wait in the lobby while they got our reservation. That took a little longer than expected. During the check-in process they tried to upsell us a room with a view for a sizable amount - which we refused. Then we were escorted to our room by one of the employees who showed us all the amenities in the room. The room was very large and really nice. it was like a little studio with a kitchen (did not use). We asked about the in-room internet access and within a few minutes another employee showed-up with the password information. The wi-fi was very good and we had no problems with access. The breakfast buffet was wonderful with many western and local selections. They have a shuttle boat that runs quite frequently and takes you to the "tourist boat" stop where you can also catch the sky-train. They can arrange tours for you, but I do not recommend it as you can get the same tours in town for a much lower price. All in all it was a lovely stay. If I ever visit Bangkok again I will surely stay at the Chatrium!

We stayed or 5 nights and really loved the place. The rooms are large and we were on the 32nd floor. It's worth it to pay extra for the river view. Very good value for money.

the chatrium riverside is a new member of the many five-star-hotel on the bank of the chao phraya river. it has, given the location, a great view over city and river, but it fails in many details. the rooms are simply too small for two, you need a suite. there, the setting of rooms is somewhat strange - a lot of space wasted on a couch, little table and kitchen that few people need. but the bedroom is narrow and the curtain half lies over one of the beds. the sink to wash and brush is outside the bathroom, so when you have go wash your hands at night, you wake the partner (also because the light management makes no sense).
bangkok has many top class hotels - the chatrium lacks many details (also in kitchen, staff performance, cleaning of the rooms) to compete with the top 20. therefore it's overpaid.

Room Tip: take a suite, the rooms are very narrow and too small for a couple.
