During our recent visit to Bangkok, due to our hotel location, we are very close to this Bangkok Art & Culture Centre (BACC), Visit it in our very first day of trip, we love their spacier gallery and few retail shops around the floor. Not much event during our visit, hope more see more the next times. But love to see a very artistic place in the busy city.

Located directly across from the MBK shopping mall, right on the walkway to National Stadium BTS train. A couple of cafes inside. Modern art. Regulary change the exhibitions. Some of the rooms closed getting ready for the next displays. Well worth a visit.

This is a new very modern urban exhibition place that is only a few steps from the Jim Thompson House. We saw some edgy political pieces by Vasan Sitthiket. A nice break from the temples and tourists.

We spent a couple of hours in the BACC, such an amazing place, worth seeing. At the time we visited, there was quite an extensive photograph display on the plight of refugees worldwide. Around 6 world renowned photographers had their work on display and I found it very moving. A single photograph of a refugee can have more of an impact than watching the refugee crisis on television.
I was also taken by a small display showing a single item which refugees took with them or were allowed to take when fleeing their country - an item which may have been sentimental, an item from their childhood or something to remind them of their homeland ... a small book, a teddy, traditional pair of shoes, small antiquity, one earing (the other was lost), a piece of clothing given to a lady by her boyfriend. So sad, really, when you think of it, the plight of refugees.
Obviously, this was just one exhibition. Every floor had some exhibition which was fantastic. We spent a few hours viewing. Really worth a visit

Next to National Stadium BTS Skytrain and opposite from the MBK Shopping Center you can find a great Art Gallery over 9 floors, completely free admission.

The Art gallery changes the art and decor every few weeks and it is a pleasure to see all the art, sculptures and pictures from various art designers.

During your visit you can enjoy drinks and ice creams as well as snacks on the lower floors.
Definitely worth a visit!
