Spent a few days in Kathmandu and really enjoyed the shopping and sight seeing in Thamel. It's a blend of colour and Chaos as you weave your way through the labyrinth of streets. The local people are wonderful to engage with and enjoy a little haggle on prices when buying an item.

Thamel is an absolute haven even though it’s busy. You can get everything you would possibly need for your trip, great eating places, great hotels. Really friendly people.
Thamel is a very busy area where you can find Restaurants offering all kinds of food, shops selling silver jewelry, gold jewelry, brassware, tshirts and a lot more. Prices are good and haggle to get a lower price.
