Excellent f & b service. But thats where it ends. No smile at getting out of car and passing concierge n reception. At check in room was filthy despite the hotel being aware of our arrival time etc 6 mths in advance. during checkin we were not told of the facilities of the hotel, we had to go to our room, thought there may be info in the compendium but guess what there was none in the room so we ended up going back to reception to find out. Every night since then the ac has not been working. We have not been sleeping well at all because of the heat in the room. There was an ill-mannered wedding group on our 1st 2 nights who would create extreme noise pollution after midnight. We called reception many times to no avail. The 3rd dwy we thought of catching up on some sleep but guess what, they thought it was ok to scream talk directly ourside our room. My sister went to reception to let them know about the noise. The best she was told was, they were checking out so the noise would stop. It didnt thoufh until 3 hours later. It seemed we were less important, but excuse me we were paying guests not staying for free. A few staff who highly deserve a hystar mention are rupesh in reception, sajan and nabin in housekeeping, narayan, ashish, ranjita, raju, sanjee, rabin, nigam, reshmi and the chefs at the cafe, and annie in reservations. The other reception staff and concierge are not noteworthy.
As we were only given good service at the cafe, thats where we spent most of our time.
Being hyatt, an american brand you should be aware of how to design a disabled room's bathroom. Ours was not at all disable friendly. I could have slipped a few times in the 6 days. Hopefully when refurbing the rooms this is desperately looked into. Also providing good customer service should start from the door, not after we have put in a complaint on the first day. We did not require consolation service. We just wanted the hyatt regency service from the get go. Would not recommend the hotel to anybody for the future. Thank you for nothing HR kathmandu

Dear Guest,

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Your stay was not a flawless experience we aim to provide to each and every one of our guests, and for this I truly apologize.

I am very concerned after reading your comments regarding your encounters with few of our associates. I will ensure our Front Office Manager is made aware so he can address your concerns with his team. Also, moving forward we will be conducting additional guest service training to ensure all of our guests feel welcomed.

With regards to the room, we are sorry that we were unable to allocate a room away from the wedding guests and please accept our apologies for the any noise disturbance you had encountered.

On a more positive note, your kind compliments to the associates mentioned will be shared with the team. This recognition will definitely motivate them to strive harder for excellence.

We hope to have another opportunity to serve you to show the quality service you expect from a Hyatt hotel.

Best Regards,

The boudha stupa is within easy walking distance. A very good hotel with 2 restaurants we only ate in the main restaurant and only ordered from the a la carte menu, plenty of choice but I would add to be careful my wife ordered the Thai green curry which we have had on many occasions in the uk and we do like it spicy but there's was extra hot and she had trouble eating it we asked for yoghurt to ease the heat but the maitre d insisted on changing it they were very helpful, but be warned. I had peri peri shrimp which I expected to be hot, it was but I was ok with it. Breakfast is buffet and very good with dosas and omelette made to order

We spent three nights in February. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, and friendly staff ready to accommodate their guests.

Behind the hotel is the Boudhanath Stupa a five minute walk.

The breakfast buffet is excellent, with the same standards found in the U.S. including choices.

The hotel has live classical musicians playing in the evening in the lobby. This hotel was very relaxing for us, we enjoyed the hotel which also has a couple of shops.

After three days of shopping for a mantra rug, I found it in the hotel shop because of it's quality, design, and negotiated price.

I would definitely recommend this hotel its the best place to stay while in Kathmandu.

And the lobby has a third party travel agent to assist with tours within Nepal. If I had known this prior we would have made a booking for Chitwan National Park. (UNESCO World Heritage Center)

The amenities are the same found in our top notch hotels (U.S.A.)

As we drove from the airport in Kathmandu to the Hyatt Regency I told myself not to expect much. If you've been to Kathmandu, you know what I mean. All around there was evidence of the terrible earthquake that hit Kathmandu in April 2015. There were people still living in tent cities. So, when I got to the Hyatt Regency, which is a little oasis from the crazy streets of Kathmandu, I was pleasantly surprised. I was thankful to have electricity, a comfortable bed and running water. The grounds of this property are beautiful. There's even a swimming pool. Our room, which came with 2 twin beds, was a little tired and in need of some updating. It could have used: new linens and the black finger prints washed off of the telephone. Other than that it was a comfortable stay for the two nights we were there.
