“Nice new place but strand location”
Reviewed 4 May 2012 via mobile

Good new place with good pizzas. Had the pudding for dessert which was clearly from a satchel with pre-mixed powder - not do impressed. But nice big court yard and very hard working people working as waiters

“New and Old in an Archaic Setting”
Reviewed 15 April 2012

Set in the metropolis of Patan, in Nepal's south, this newly-opened restaurant surely satisfies! The setting, to begin with, was amazing: the cafe was built in a typical old-fashioned Nepali house, with original stonework and wooden features brought back to life. The space has also been decorated with a range of pieces which show-off the culture and people of Nepal. Another aspect of the dining experience which makes patrons comfortable with their visit is their kitchen. New patrons to the restaurant are allowed to inspect the kitchen, which is filled with modern utenils, a large wood-fired pizza oven, and clean food preparation spaces.

The Menu combines elements of traditional and modern Nepali cuisine, as well as other food from Europe and Asia. I ordered the chicken soup and their "supreme" equivalent pizza, while the friend I was with odered the chef's special and buff mo:mo:, which we shared.

I was not expecting much from the pizza: I had been to other resturants in Nepal which served pizza and was not satisfied. The pizza is either undercooked or is really soggy. This was not what I got, however; but, rather, something else. The pizza was actually really good: the crust and base was well-formed and their was just enough on the top of the pizza to feel satisifed. The chicken soup was also not that bad!

We also shared a few beers, memories and advice, and left.

I would certainly recommend Bricks Cafe to anyone who is looking for a good eat in Nepal. For foreigners it is usually difficult to find places to eat which won't have bad consequences, but I can say with confidence that you will have no problem there. The staff are also friendly. Perhaps my greatest doubt was not being there at night where lights, music and dance abound.

“Amazingly hot chili momos!”
Reviewed 12 April 2012

We read a Nepalese newpaper food review on this restaurant and thought we should try it out. As our last meal we had in Nepal before flying out, the most memorable was the heat in my mouth from the chili momos and chili mushrooms. I love spicy food and these were delectable, but don't eat them without a big glass of Everest beer, water or their strawberry smoothie in hand!

“Good food, atmosphere and prices”
Reviewed 24 March 2012

I have been here a few times and liked the food. The coffee is especially good compared to other places in Kathmandu. The building is an old, traditional Nepali house that was renovated and makes for a unique setting. We love sitting outside, but the bar and the upstairs area are pleasant too. We can usually find any food to suit our moods and the chef is happy to make special accommodations upon our request. Best of all, it's very reasonably priced, especially compared to other restaurants around the touristy Jhamsikhel area.

We'll keep going back for sure.

“traditional outlook, delicious cuisines and express service”
Reviewed 19 March 2012

when i first saw bricks cafe, the first thought popped up in my mind was its architecture. what a concept!! newly opened with traditional nepalese architecture. I think in this sophisticated modern age this is the best way to preserve our nearly extinguising old houses.

Varieties of delightful tasty cuisines and express service.

One of the best cafe in town.
