“best you get in Kampala”

small hotel with very clean, nicely appointed rooms in a well planned setting. Very convenient location but lots of traffic, so even at night the place cannot really be considered very quiet. Restaurant, patisserie, butchery and more within the same compound. Good service with the exception of a cleaner who insisted one morning on making the room while we were still around after breakfast. Rather expensive but probably the best accommodation you can get in Kampala these days.

we had a wonderfull stay in a verry large room with all comfort.
verry peaceful and quite place near the center of kampala.
the food is verry good with a lot of variation.
a very safe feeling in this hotel with a large parking for the car.
on the large pool it's nice to relax.

The room was great and very clean and the hotel setting is a nice escape from the downtown traffic and chaos.

However- it's right next door to a banquet hall of sorts, and they seem to have weddings or some sort of celebration there, every night that I was there! It's extremely loud and the hotel room walls are very thin. So if you are an early sleeper, you can forget about it! The music doesn't stop until about midnight or later.

The restaurant is also not true Belgian food as it claims. It's average and definitely overpriced! (I've had real Belgian food, and it doesn't begin to compare)

The concierge staff was very nice and helpful. Unfortunately the one of the women that works at the Coffee shop (le pattiserie) was not. She nearly bit my head off when I ordered the wrong coffee.

Overall, a nice hotel stay, but the poor quality food and noise made it discouraging to ever come back.

The rooms are large, very nicely furnished and come with complimentary drinks in a mini fridge. Staff is friendly and helpful. The rates are good for what you get. Breakfast was served with many options to order, such as pancakes, scrambled eggs etc. Internet and power supply were very good compared to other hotels, I have stayed in Kampala.

Location is good, close to the city centre and to the bars in Kabalagala. There is an excellent restaurant, a butcher and a patisserie attached to the hotel.

The only negative point was the lighting in the room. In the evening it got too dark in the room, reading was not possible anymore.

Overall we had a pleasant stay at le petit village.

I stayed here in July 2011 for 5 days for a business trip and loved it. The airport shuttle was there on time when I arrived. I stayed in a Jr. Suite and enjoyed the quiet, private oasis from the loud city. The room was large and the free, stocked mini-fridge was a nice touch. They even offered champagne on the veranda my first night there. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There are a lot of food options in the complex - a fantastic deli with amazing sandwiches (They even deliver to the room, if you want), the bakery, and the Restaurant which was top notch. The food selection was wide and delicious. I have to say the food options were the best part of my stay! The bathtub, shower, and beds were all luxurious!

The only "cons" were that although they had soap and shampoo in the rooms, they weren't able to provide any lotion or toothpaste which were items I had forgotten, and which are normally pretty standard at most hotels (travel size), especially considering the rates for the hotel. When I asked about them, the staff told me I should buy it at the pharmacy (which is also in the compound) because "that's what it's there for". Finally, the location is out of the way unless you are doing business at the US Embassy, which is very very close. Otherwise, fighting the traffic is a hassle unless you are willing to leave super-early in the AM or super-late in the morning to avoid rush hour traffic.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay there and will likely come back.
