We paid what I consider to be an astronomical price for this hotel as an add-on to cruise. We stayed over New Year for three nights, which might partly account for the very high price. The room (sea-view) was very nice, a good size, a huge bed with good bedding, and a nice bathroom with bath and separate shower, good towels and toiletries. We had a nice little balcony with a table and chairs. The breakfast was good - an extensive buffet, though there were no breads which were to our taste - we'd have liked wholemeal, or a brown bread that wasn't sweet. However, when in Dakar....! Incidentally, when we went to breakfast on 1st Jan there were hardly any staff available to serve us, and we had to be early as we were off out on a tour for the day.
We had two major issues - the food was of very variable quality. One lunch time I ordered a Calzone Pizza, and when I cut it open a raw egg spilled out. Of the dozens of staff standing round nobody seemed to care, and I had to say that I did not intend to pay for it, otherwise they'd have happily put it on my bill, even though I asked them to take it away. Another day, two of us ordered Club Sandwiches which were truly dreadful - we can confidently say they were the worst we have had anywhere in the world, but when we complained they were just taken away, no apology, and they appeared on the bill. None of the many staff seemed to have any authority to sort things out to our satisfaction. There were very few Brits staying in the Hotel, and we seemed to get a reputation as complainers, because we refused to quietly put up with things that were wrong. The reception manager was quite sarcastic to me before we left. This was not good, and made me uncomfortable and embarrassed. Most of the other staff were polite and pleasant, if sometimes ineffectual.
On New Year's Eve the three restaurants had Gala Meals, the cheapest being over 100 Euros, and no other food was available. We organised our own party for 4 with room service food, and we must say the staff were helpful in organising this for us.
None of us would be keen to stay here again.

Room Tip: Sea view room was very pleasant

Relaxed place to stay with a nice private, sandy beach... next to the Radisson Blue... charming staff, that works there already since many years... get a sea-side room with the perfect view over the ocean... since more then 20 years known for its great cuisine.... room prices can be negotiated... best value for your money...

Room Tip: seaside has best views...

I stayed at this hotel during a large conference in late November - early December. It was an excellent experience and one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The rooms were very comfortable and well furnished with a great bed and really good pillows.

The bath had both a rain shower and a tub with clean towels and all accessories needed. The hotel has a decent pool and the beach (private bay) is a real great place to spend the evenings -very quiet and romantic !

Breakfast was international with a wide variety of cuisines to satisfy all tastes. Efficient and polite service - many of the staff speak english which was a big help to me

All the staff who served me did so with a smile. It was truly a great experience of the Francophone hospitality. It is also walking distance to an Arts village where you can get amazing handicrafts.

My colleagues did stay at other places like the Radisson, DesAlmadies and Meridien and apart from the Radisson (which looked quite stunning!) the TerrouBi was a hands down winner !

I would definitely stay at this place again and would recommend it to anyone !

Room Tip: Most of the rooms are beach facing. Ask to get a beach facing room on a higher floor - less inscets...

This hotel is a very good choice for Dakar visitors. Compared to the neighbouring Radisson Blu, it's somewhat cheaper and the quality of service is marginally better. The rooms are spacious, the bathroom is 5-star and the hotel is architecturally nice, stretching along the private beach, all well designed and maintained. Staff is polite and quick and generally - everything ticks well. Breakfast is very good, but the choice isn't marvelous (they should have had some nice African fruits). Don't count with a gym - what they have is a small room with 4 cardio machines, not even a threadmill. Some services that you would find in top hotels are not here. But it's fine. For as long as you don't expect a top 5-star quality, this is a great 4-star hotel, which is what it's name claims. Strongly recommended.

Room Tip: Preferably sea side for the great view.

I travel almost once a month to Dakar and usually stay at Radisson but it was fully booked so I decided to stay at Terrou-Bi. I heard about this hotel before and the reputation seemed to be good.

This hotel is very well maintained. Rooms seem to be quite new. They are very comfortable with a nice bathroom. Very nice landscape from the terrace where the breakfast is served. There is a small beach and a pool but had no time to try them.

Location is convenient, along the corniche, between airport and city center.

Overall a very good experience and I would recommend this hotel to others.
