We went on a Friday and the door was locked but with the "open" sign. We knocked the door and the owner open the door just for us and close it behind. There was nobody else in the restaurant.

The chicken pastilla is really good but it was overpriced. It has European prices!
30DH for a bottle of water?

What a lovely experience, I read about the restaurant on TripAdvisor and decided to go for dinner. Finding the restaurant in the Medina is the beginning of the experience, the owner and his wife are very friendly and helpful. I had the lamb with aubergine and spices, the lamb was tender and sooo tasty, a must have in Rabat.

It's no wonder that Dar Zaki is continually rated highly.
The food here while typically Moroccan focuses on quality, freshness and authenticity.
For example - the harira soup is made with fresh puréed tomatoes, and not too much flour, one can really appreciate the slow delicate way it was prepared.

The bastilla with dried fruits is a triumph - here the traditional almond paste has been supplemented with caramelized raisins, walnuts and onions.
The side salads and tagines were all delicious.

The husband and wife team stay focused on running the establishment according to their own very high standards and thus things may be a little slow moving when busy but adequate.

Very recommended.

We arrived really late and they served us with a smile on their faces. Everything was delicious, especially the pastilla. The place is beautiful and the servers are really nice. I highly recommend it!
