This is a clean friendly hotel. It tries very hard to please and is getting their. It still needs work on its food which for my taste is a little bland. It has to be said it is a fair way from the main square but for some that might be a plus. All staff are exelent.

Just a small point in response to this short review - while we are grateful, as always, for the interesting comments it is worth pointing out that Mr Hull did not actually STAY at Les Borjs de la Kasbah but merely called in as a non-resident for a meal.

I have been to the fascinating city of Marrakech more than 20 times over a period of some 40 years and have previously always stayed in 5-star hotels and riads but was attracted by the excellent reviews this rather less pricy small hotel attracts. I am glad to say that my partner and I were not disappointed.
The southern part of the medina is somewhat less touristy than the northern end, perhaps because it is a fair (but interesting) walk to Djemaa el Fna and the Koutoubia, though less than 15 minutes from the Bahia and Badii Palaces and Saadian Tombs. We were tired enough at the end of the day to dine in, something we would not normally do; however, Les Borjs de la Kasbah offers an excellent dinner package if you dine in at least three nights, and the food is interesting and good. A small supplement for a Moroccan-themed dinner with music and belly dancer was well worth paying. We had no time to use the pool or spa but both looked inviting.
The conversion of several houses into a charming boutique hotel has been done most sympathetically and with good taste. Modern comforts have not diminished authenticity. The multilingual staff were invariably smiling, and readily accommodated special requests. The complimentary airport pick-up on arrival and the serving of mint tea and cakes whilst checking in are nice touches. We shall very happily return!

Room Tip: The modest supplement for a suite (actually a nice bedroom with a sizeable sitting area) is well wor...

Caution: Marrakech has a small print policy that if a large booking comes up, they can bump you out of your reservation. That happened to us two times and we ended up at Les Borjs de la Kasbah. Thank goodness! This is an oasis. Marrakech is a busy, noisy, exciting place, and when you are done touring, what you need is a place like this. Believe it or not, you can walk down a sketchy alley full of donkeys, motorcycles, bikes, pedestrians, people, and go through the doors into a "riad" that offers peace and tranquility. The service is great, the food is excellent, the rooms well decorated and clean. I understand in speaking with the staff that this used to be the #1 rating in Marrakech and it should be! We stayed at five other hotels during our three week trip in Morocco and by far, far, far this is the best hotel we stayed at. Dinner is great at the hotel -- while you can have Tagine -- you also have a large selection of modern cuisine which is a great break from the standard dish. This was the only hotel to offer a computer and if you want to make international phone calls all you have to do is go to the front desk. The bathrooms are delightful -- heated towel rack, plush towels, nice soaps, shower and bathtub. We miss Fatima, the wonderful woman who manages breakfast. If only she could be there at home every morning.

Room Tip: If you travel when it is warm enough to use the unheated pool, I'd avoid a room overlooking the...

As you enter the Borjs de la Kasbah you leave the chaos outside and enter a tranquil oasis. The staff are terrific, helpful and courteous.
Rooms are clean, comfortable and in decorated and finished to a high standard. We ate several times at the hotel restaurant and enjoyed the experience every time.
A must if you stay is the spa- the hammam, and spa treatments are fantastic, i felt refreshed and rejuvenated after the experience.
