“Quaint, Clean Riad - Perfect spot in Marrakech”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 April 2012

I stayed in this Riad in April 2012 and just loved it. The room was spacious, clean and quiet for a great night's sleep. The breakfast was delicious each morning and the rooftop was the most delightful spot to have your coffee and crepes with some conversation with either the inn keepers or the other guests! The location is great, the price can't be beat and Patrice/Marc go out of their way to make sure you feel at home (left us Easter chocolates one night!) and also feel safe getting to/from the airport. Most importantly - super clean, affordable, cute and is a wonderful roof over your head! Definitely give this Riad a good look when you are evaluating places to stay - it was perfect!

Room Tip: Rooms vary with either detached or attached bathrooms!

Haha ! Annemarie, thank you for mentioning Easter chocolate eggs! We could not forget that european tradition even under that sun ! We had a very great time receiving you, and I still wonder how you could buy so many stuff back to California in such a short time... How you packed everything before living will remain as a great moment in Dar Tiflet history ! Best regards, Patrice and Marc.

Riad Dar Tiflet was the perfect place to stay while we were in Marrakech!! From the moment we were picked up at the airport (ride arranged by the owners of the Riad) to the time of our departure when they helped us get a taxi to the airport the owners were warm, friendly and extremely helping. Making sure we knew were everything was and recommending great places to visit and eat while in Marrakech.

The Riad is centrally located, but far enough from the main streets that it is quite. The rooms ware incredibly clean, comfortably, and colorfully decorated. The Riad also has an amazing roof deck with views of Marrakech and the Atlas Mountains (quite stunning). We lounged on the roof every morning, enjoying the sun and a great breakfast prepared by the Riad.

This Riad is perfect in price point, convenience, charm, cleanliness and and the owners and staff are a pleasure! I would highly recommend it to anyone traveling!!

I trawled through a lot of guest houses before picking out Riad Dar Tiflet, and I made the right choice for my small group of professional women friends. We did not want to stay in a faceless hotel in the modern area, or in a cheap and cheerful dorm full of young students. Our budget was tight and we couldn't afford a fancy place but we wanted something traditional and friendly and this little riad scored top marks for us all. The Arabic house has been elegantly restored by the owners, keeping the beautiful and practical traditional features and adding touches of modernity in the warm and rounded tabia (red clay and lime) bathroom suites. The modest hi-fi in the central atrium allowed us to chill out after bargaining in the souks, the house computer meant we could check our emails and flight details, and there was a kitchen with Moroccan sofas and tapestrys where we would finish our evening chatting together over a pot of local herbal tea.
Marc and Patrice run a tight ship, you will be collected on time, advised on any aspect of the city, and treated like a family member. It was a bigger culture shock than I thought arriving in Marrakesh, Marc smoothed the ride, he spent several hours each day walking us around the key places so that we could get our bearings, he knew many locals and was greeted by friendly faces at every turn. He loved Marrakesh and was a great diplomatic guide.
The breakfasts were delicious with fresh bakery, juice and real coffee. The roof was perfect for a bit of private sunbathing, or reading in the shade. We were less than ten minutes from the main square and close to the big museums.
Cats were not allowed into the house at all, but on the roof terrace a couple of pretty rescued felines had made their home.
Around the corner Marc and Patrice manage another property which is more exclusive and French, so there are options if your party is larger.
I would recommend this guest house to discerning travellers, the decor is sympathetic and artistic, the owners are cultured yet down to earth, and the beds have no plastic sheets !

Riad Dar Tiflet is a great place to stay in Marrakech. The price is fantastic, accommodations very clean, the riad is centrally located, and the owners are so nice, making sure you have everything you need for a great stay. It's set back enough from the main streets that it's very quiet, peaceful, and a relaxing. Breakfast on the roof each morning is lovely and the rooms are so pretty with lots of rugs, beautiful pillows and curtains. I would highly recommend booking this riad if you want an affordable stay that also feels luxurious.

Room Tip: We stayed on the first floor which had it's own bathroom which was fantastic.

Dar Tiflet is a little gem! Very simply but comfortably furnished, it has all you might need - feels like a home away from home. Rooms are simple but clean, roof terrace is very nice - some shaded parts and some sun, and the best view out across Marrakesh. But what is most special about Dar Tiflet is the owner - he went out of his way to help us out, including showing us around the medina on the first night so we could orient ourselves, accompanying us to a local pharmacy, giving great recommendations for eating, hammams, etc. etc. We had a great time here!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Riad Dar Tiflet is a smart authentic Riad in the heart of the old medina. We chose to let the house as it was decorated by the former berberian families, with a lot of old ceramics on the walls (zelliges) and furniture hand-made in medina. All commodities are at international standards, 5 bathrooms for 4 bedrooms, with WIFI connection... Our terrace is much appreciated by his panoramic view and his 3 independant parts. ... more   less
