Stayed for two nights in March 2012. Absolutely beautiful Riad, location is right in the heart of Marrakech very close to the main square.

The rooms were really opulent, large, very clean and well decorated with some nice little luxuries to add.

Service was fantastic, we were picked up from the bus station but the Riad (as it can be bit hard getting around and not being harassed). Had a lovely mint tea on arrival and chatted to the owner, who has some great tips around Marrakech, she then took us on a little orientation walk. The staff are fantastic really friendly and most helpful.

Breakfast was delicious, traditional Moroccan.

No complaints, would highly recommend

Stayed as a couple for 7 nights in early March. The Riad maintained an excellent standard throughout, overseen by the charming and very welcoming owners Francoise and Bernard who were always around when you needed them and spoke excellent English. We were well briefed on arrival; offered advice on where to visit from sights, restaurants or a drink, and taken a short distance on foot to help navigate our way around. Bernard even took me on a short motorbike tour of places to go running near by. Our ground floor room (ivory) was very comfortable, well appointed and convenient for having instant access into the lounge area where you can sit, relax and take tea. Although the lounge can be used for breakfasts or dinner we (and most other guests during our stay) breakfasted on the terrace. The terrace was perfect for sun or shade and provided a view of the distant Atlas mountains. The staff (Salah, Khadija, Habiba and Mahasin) are young and delightful, working tirelessly to make our stay fabulous. Francoise and Bernard have created a welcoming, family style atmosphere that was truly reassuring and calming, and in contrast to the clamour and noise of the Medina. Excellent location close to the action (Place Jamaa El Fna, souks and places of interest). Excellent food. Cool nights, warm days (27C). I strongly recommend this Riad.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms convenient for lounge with tv and entrance but you could be disturbed because it...

The tales of 1001 nights are filled with stories of 'you've got 3 wishes for free'.
Francoise, Bernard and the team go the extra mile and anticipated those wishes when I still hesitated to pronounce them.

Here is our story of 1001 night in Marocco & Marrakech (our last stop).
We rented as usual a car and thought that it is easy to get around - in a country with a recongnizable level of analphabetism and written language that is different from Latin it is not so easy even when equipped with maps.
So here comes wish number 1)
On the morning of arrival Francoise called me on my mobile inquiring on our arrival time and she offered generously the help of her husband – who shall pick us up anywhere in town once we’d be lost – we just need to call.
Miraculously this was the one and only time that we did not get lost, so Francoise picked us up on the indicated car park and gave us a lesson in ‘bargaining in Marrakech’ – also the price for the car park is subject to negotiation.
On arrival Kadisha spoiled us with delicious mint tea, Francoise entertained us in the meanwhile with stories about Marrakech and how it is to set-up a business in Morocco. Then we moved into our room – we’ve got spoiled in suite ‘Sultan’. The suite features some a king-size double bed and a nice bath (which is a little dark). Finishes are not antique or in fullest Moroccan craftsmanship – but always of good taste.
The roof terrace is a splendid oasis of rest with some deck chairs to relax, some tables for breakfast and a splendid view into atlas mountains – that were (in March still) fully covered with snow.
So here comes wish number 2)
Bernard meanwhile returned from a round of golf and takes us to ‘la place’ - Jemaa el Fna. He shows us the 10 minutes walk from the riad to ‘la place’ through the little streets . Jemaa el Fna boasts of energy and entertainment and Bernard helps us to discover the first few streets of the souks. It is such a nice way to help newcomers to find their way – many thanks for that.
We continued and strolled on for another 2 hours in the souks – and finally got hungry and lost(of course), but with some help of locals we managed to get back to Jemaa el Fna, where we had on one of the tables dinner. We opted for resto ‘#22’, which according to the owner is of course the best, cheapest… – difficult to say, however it was good and we were surrounded by few Moroccans.
So here comes wish number 3)
On our return – it was still rather early - we arrived at the Riad were Shela well anticipated that a glass of red wine (yes Riad Argan is licensed) on the roof terrace – looking into the full moon - is exactly what we need to finish off a wonderful day.

Yes we fell in love with Riad Argan – the place is without fail but it is the people that make it very special. We do hope that many others can experience this hospitality and take this hospitality home to friends and foreigners.

Myself and my husband spent a fantastic 4 days in Morocco, staying at this beautiful Riad - a really peaceful setting amongst the hustle and bustle of the Medina. Francois and her staff were all very welcoming and helpful. We had a meal there one night and I cannot recommend it highly enough - the food was wonderful. I would 100% recommend.
