The hotel manager, Ouday was exceptional in regards to his hospitality and service. The staff were welcoming and friendly as we arrived in Fes. Upon our arrival, we were served moroccan tea which was delicious. As we entered our hotel room, we found a fruit basket which was also a lovely gesture. The hotel was located within close proximity to the souks in the old medina. Everything was within walking distance. The views from the rooftop were absolutely amazing. We were able to see the sunset from our rooftop. Ouday also immediately asked us whether we required a tour guide the following morning. He was not pushy ad was open about what options were available. we opted for a 3 hour guide which meant we were able to see all important sites within the old medina.

I think the hotel would be almost perfect if they could invest in some gowns and slippers!

At first I was skeptical walking up to the riad, but it was quite beautiful. Don't let the dark alley fool you! The staff is great and accommodating. And the room was good too. While there are some sights close by, a lot of the restaurants we wanted to visit were about a 20 min walk away, which wasn't ideal given how easy it is to get lost. But the riad was willing to get us help to navigate if needed.

Ouadi and Ibrahim were great, and there was another young gentleman who was always happy to help.

Have to say that this riad is not that good.
Food and travel arranging( eg. Day tour, taxi, etc.) are just over-priced. They asked 200DRM for just 1 couscous which is the most expensive and unreasonable price during the whole trip around Morocco. Do double confirm the price before you book anything from them. Suggest call a taxi by yourselves rather than ask them to book cuz they usually double the price.
And the stuff is a bit creepy, he's like put a fake smile while talking to you and put back a long face right after he finished talking when turning around.
Location is in the Medina, but it's super easy to get lost and you need to walk a super long and crowded way outside Medina to get a taxi. Will suggest to stay outside the Medina and arrange a one or two day visit to the Medina.
The only good thing may be the interior design. That's all.

I do not agree with this review as we all did to make your stay very enjoyable. We are 4 stars, it's normal and our prices are normal, standard cost. So I see you are the kind of customer that never happy. Really surprised, nothing to say !!!

Superbly located within 5 mins walking distance to the Qaruwin Mosque, whilst at the same time tucked away in a private enclave, which maintains its sanity from the sometimes maddening crowd. Love the style of this Riad, with its stylishly decorated large and airy rooms, lending an air of sophistication with high ceilings and modern Orientalist style. The hammam and massage provide a welcome respite after a day of shopping in the Medina. The roof top unfolds panoramic views of the surrounding vista and the Medina's rooftop holds the promise of cocktails and tales of Arabian nights. The staffs' helm by Ouady and Ebrahim are perfect hosts, who will see to your every need. This recently opened Riad certainly is earning its plaudits and deserves its accolades. As for the food, had Chicken Tagine, which is simply divine, as the meat melts away.. Will be back in a heart beat..

In the middle of the Fes Medinah madness, Palais Bahia is like a breath of fresh air. It is a small yet stunning property, with big rooms, great food and staff that make you feel at home, especially Manager Ouadi.

Manager Ouadi went out of his way and sorted out everything we needed during our stay - including a trusted tour guide to take us around the Medinah, a rental car to drive to Chefchaouen, (even an aux wire for the car!) and was very accommodative about breakfast timings.

Living in Palais Bahia is a great way to experience the grunge feel of the Medinah, and yet whenever you return to the hotel you feel like you've come back to a real palace from the 17th century. Truly, a hidden treasure....must stay here..
