What a great stay at Dar Melody! Laurence and Bernard had every detail covered. Breakfast was without a doubt the best we’ve had in Fez. The room (Orange suite) was wonderful. We felt taken care of like family, so much so that we didn’t want to leave. Unfortunately this hotel was only available for two out of the three nights that we were staying in Fez. For the third night we went to Dar Aatajalli which was a terrible experience. Both places charged the same rate but that’s where the similarities ended. Dar Melody is in a class all it’s own. A wonderful place run by wonderful people who I will remember fondly. Merci Bernard et Laurence. Ca etait un grand plaisir!

In addition to the lovely and comfortable room and the delicious breakfast, Laurence and Bernard took incredible care of us. My boyfriend unfortunately had a stomach bug the night that we checked in and they spent the next couple of days giving him all of the medications and comfort foods that he needed. They went out of their way to help us get from place to place (as Fes is quite the maze). We will definitely stay here again if we go back!

Our rooms (2) were very conveniant and the decoration of the rooms was very beautiful Marocan. What we specially liked were the nice conversations with the owners and the help they gave us by finding our way in the Medina, restaurant, parking place. The breakfasts were very good. It was realy a party for us to stay here.

Room tip: Le chambre chez le terasse sur le toit est la plus belle.

Dar Melody is a beautiful nicely restored traditional moroccan house in Fes medina. The french owners have done a remarkable job with the place and the rooms are really a journey in history with modern touch. All of them are very spacious, comfortable, exceptionally decorated (moroccan style of course) and the bathroom area is just beautiful. The pics that exist in third-party booking sites do not reflect at all the beauty of the rooms.

I would call it a small boutique hotel with rooms distinguished by colors (orange, green, brown etc)
The breakfast was moroccan and french style and more than enough for us

If you visit Morocco and a medina for the first time, then you probably should book airport transfer with them -- do not try to find the place by yourself or google maps.
The location of Dar Melody is in a quiet alley at the edge of the medina -- as Fes medina is the largest and more chaotic of all we had issues trying to find our way back -- I reckon that if we had stayed a couple of days more we would be more easily get oriented.

As I mentioned the owners are french and their english is not perfect, however they try hard and in the end the communication is ok. I would like to congratulate them for the excellent work and love they have committed to this place.
