This restaurant is no longer just for men. It is licensed, a relaxed but very "correcte" place, and reasonable.

The restaurant is somehow staid frozen in 70-80-ies, when it was still allowed to smoke in the public places. Most of the guest are actually smoking, which is disturbing because there is no other non-smoking area. If you are resistant to smoke, the food is not bad. I wanted to try lamb and apparently it was the most expensive dish from the menu (2300 dinar). Beer is in the small bottles 0.25-0.33l (350-400 dinar). The local beer is Tango, not bad. Wine is in 0,5l and 0,75l bottles (1600-3000 dinar). The waiters are very serious :) The interior is also from the past. It seems that a lot of things do not get updated in Algeria.

Just off the Grande Poste square, this charming restaurant with its happy welcoming staff server an excellent range of traditional food. We had Couscous (make sure you have a big appetite , the serving is very generous in size) and Mechouia.
Both were very tasty. The staff were attentive and very friendly.

We are going to back again and this time try the fish soup
