My husband and I went here the other day and saw many new fish and saw a pretty good size turtle swimming around. The beach was a bit crowded from the resort but not too much to handle.
If you are not able to go to Hanauma bay, but would still like to go snorkel at a protected nice area, this is the option to go. There is a snorkel rental right at the beach. This beach is public, but is shared with Turtle bay resort hotel so you might have lots of hotel guests, but it is still not as crowded as other places and is very protected for beginning snorklers...no need to fight waves to go see the fish!
I would personally grab snorkel gear prior to this if you can.
Also, there is really no "storage" at the beach...so either bring a partner who will watch over things or prepare to lock things in the car.
If you have done Hanauma Bay for snorkeling, you will find this wonderful. It is a nice drive to the north - Turtle Bay - but there is plenty of parking, a restaurant, and restrooms. It is not as cold as Hanauma with many more fish. Plenty of beach for relaxing, and shade. I absolutely recommend this as a great snorkel site on Oahu!
