This place is good value for money. You pay for what you get and In my opinion you get a little bit more here
Rooms are nice with A/C and cable television, and are cleaned every day. There is an area where food is served although this is not advertised or dwellers are not made fully aware of this. The staff are more than friendly and are willing to help where they can.
The hotel is In the centre of San Pedro Sula, everything is within walking distance. It is safe to walk during the day but not advisable in the evening which can be said about most places.
If I go back to San Pedro Sula I would stay here again.

My mom and I stayed at the Hotel Mayan Copan for almost 3 nights. Although we arrived at 2am and the area was a little scary, as soon as we entered the hotel, we felt very safe, welcome and "at home". The first night we had a room with 2 double beds and a single bed, cable TV and surprisingly, only cold water. But then again, we were too tired to care! The room cost $25US/night, so it was still quite a bargain. In the morning, we "upgraded" to another room for the next 2 nights which was HUGE with expansive bathroom space, 2 double beds, table, chairs, couch, HOT water, of course Cable TV. Cost for the huge room and all the "comforts" was only $49 US per night.
The staff there was so nice...with made to order breakfast and coffee available right outside our room, as well as lots of assistance with our fledgling Spanish.
The manager and I had communicated via e-mail for a couple days before our arrival and his graciousness, help and friendly, welcoming attitude was so refreshing!
I look forward to returning to this hotel, re-visiting the "friends" we made with the staff there and spending more time in this "home away from home". This is not a hotel, but rather felt like "mi casa is su casa".

In ten years of traveling in and around Honduras, and after staying in at least a half dozen different hotels in San Pedro Sula, I have never seen or experienced a nicer place to call home while here in the city. The street entrance of the hotel is not overly grand, but the second floor is delightfully decorated and architecturally beautiful. There is a wide range of room sizes and prices, from very economical to quite luxurious. The security is excellent, the manager speaks excellent English, and the internet cafe is inexpensive and fast. I highly recommend the Maya Copan to anyone who is fed up with overpriced plastic rooms and really cheap hovels.
