“Third Time's a Charm”
Reviewed 21 April 2012

My wife and I recently spent our Anniversary weekend at Americus Garden Inn. This was our third time staying at this beautiful, comfortable, and hospitable B&B. Kim and Susan were the ultimate hosts and Innkeepers, they saw to all the possible ammenities that make a stay at any B&B simply fantastic! It is so nice to have warm and friendly hosts that take you in and treat you like family from the moment you check in to the 'good-byes' on the last day. The house itself is a charm from it's 19th century architecture to the exquisite decorating of all the rooms and common areas. The gardens have been meticulously laid out to provide a peaceful stroll for relaxation and reflection. Kim & Susan serve the most delectable breakfast one could ever ask for. Simply put, this was one of the best weekend getaways that we have ever experienced, and will be coming back in the near future.

Our experience staying at the Americus Garden Inn was delightful. My husband and I traveled with another couple on a short jaunt to see some of the sights in southwestern Georgia. We accidentally discovered this outstanding bed and breakfast, and what a nice treat. We were warmly welcomed to the beautiful property. Susan and Kim are amazing hosts and provide nearly any amenity one can think of. They were also helpful in making dinner plans and suggestions for sights to see. The common areas are warm and friendly and designed to make a relaxing evening a certainty. A large selection of refreshments and snacks are available for the taking. The rooms are roomy, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The bed linens are marvelously comfy for sleeping. And then there was the delicious and plentiful breakfast....fresh fruit, warm scones, shirred eggs. one of Susan many pancake recipes, good coffee. Who could ask for more? Undoubtedly Americus Garden Inn tops our list of B&B's we have visited.

We spent two months exploring Georgia during February and March 2012. We made a point of staying at Bed & Breakfast Inns. The Americus Garden Inn was a delight. We felt thoroughly welcomed upon arrival. I have Celiac so require a gluten free diet and was most impressed with every breakfast. Special gluten free muffins every morning were great and the ones I took on our day trips were life savers as we toured the country side. This area is a special part of America and if you ever decide to see this part of Georgia, this is a MUST STAY place. We loved the room and enjoyed every recommendation ranging from where to eat to how to see certain parts of the country in order to enjoy them the most. A Great Place. Chris

Room Tip: We did not see all the rooms but the Inn is situated in a quiet area so I would imagine all the room...

Dear Chris:

We are so glad that staying in our 1847 home enhanced your visit to this very special part of Georgia. There are so many historical venues to explore and we appreciate the opportunity to share our recommendations on how to utilize your time to make the most of your visit.

I personally understand the struggle to find appropriate dining options when allergies/intolerances may be a problem. It was my pleasure to provide you with breakfast foods that were safe and satisfying!

Thank you for sharing your experience with the TripAdvisor community.

We immediately felt at home even though we were immersed in the atmosphere of a nineteenth century home. The bedroom was eloquent, yet cozy. Complimentary drinks and chocolates on the pillow were appreciated. Kim & Susan visited with us and shared their inn story. They recommended a marvelous restaurant. We were amazed to find so many excellent restaurants in what seems more like small-town America. We played cards in the parlor. Games, DVDs and book were readily available as well. Breakfast was great;homemade chocolate scones followed by fruit, and lastly, sheared eggs and oatmeal pancakes. Truly, they covered all the bases of comfort and thoughtfulness.

Room Tip: We stayed downstairs; I'm not crazy about climbing stairs so that worked out well for us.
