“Cabana on the Beach-book it. ”

It's a no frills cabana on the beach-you can't get any better than that. And it's cheap. Curling was an outstanding host, with his own cabana on the property. He offered suggestions and knowing he was behind us made us feel more safe.
We did have a difficult time finding it at first but asking a local and we were easily led to the cabanas.
Sunrises from the hammock!

“Very Basic & Very Inexpensive a place to stay.”

My wife & I stayed in one of Mr. Curly's (owner) cabana's a couple of weeks back from the 10th to the 14th of Feb. My 1st impression was, great view of the beach & super location within the village of Placencia. Curly explained some dangers from the beach area at night & a few more tid bit things. I also had to laugh when he told us that a pile of palm branches that were tucked behind our cabana did not get picked up that week by Placencia garb removal (it appeared to have been there for much more then a week).
After his a little speech, Curly left us alone (we did not see him but once when I asked for a extra blanket & sharp knife). The place is equipped with 1 plate, no forks or spoons, 2 coffee cups, 4 coffee filters (no coffee), a coffee maker, a microwave & a small dorm fridge.
The bed was very hard, I like a hard bed. But not a concrete hard bed, which is what it was. The pillows were equally as uncomfortable. We both found it very difficult to stand or walk after a night of trying to sleep on this bed. I found it interesting that the fake wood grain flooring was some kind of shelf tack paper applied to the floor. The shower did not get warm (no matter how long you let it run). To end it all. Mr. Curly on our last day there (while we were leaving to go have breakfast in the village) at 10am. Said we had to leave as soon as possible (check out is 11am) because his next customer was arriving & was in Placencia. He need his maid to clean the place before she showed up (which I might add, was the 1st time we seen any kind of maid, no one came in to clean anything the 4 days we were there). Our shuttle was not arriving until 1pm to take us to our next location. And it was raining (nice final touch to our stay). We ended up going (in the rain) to The Pickled Parrot to wait for our shuttle (thank you Mr.Curly for your hospitality).

“Simple Cabana but best stay in Placencia”

Staying at this cabana last week was the perfect way to end our Belize trip. I could not believe how perfect this place is for any traveler on a budget and wanting to stay right in the middle of Placencia Village. Now I must say it is not super easy to find this place on a map. The directions given to us was "past the cemetery and turn on "Westby" Our shuttle dropped us off in front of the little street sign and we had to walk on a small paved street into what looked like other peoples property. But not being from Placencia we didn't know that all theses small paved streets lead to the main part of the village and a part of the village where no cars can go to. We walked and finally saw the sign for Tri Tan Cabanas. Getting there late did not help us though. It was dark but we could see the cabana porch light and Arthur greeted us quickly since he was also late waiting for us.

Now the cabana is basic but clean. we were warned not to leave belonging on the porch since it is right off the beach and anyone could take it. Luckily nothing like that happened to us.

You can't really appreciate this place until the morning. You wake up to the sounds of waves crashing and you can see beautiful coconut trees and the Caribbean sea out your window. I woke up and started taking pictures of the beach right away. We hung out in the hammocks and spent most the day just swimming right in front of our cabana. When we got hungry we simply walked over to Barefoot Bar and Tipsy Tuna from the beach.

This non-frills cabana is also great because its the closest to the water you probably stay in Placencia. Its also right in the middle og the village so no matter where we went we were five min walking distance from our room in case we forgot something or wanted to drop something off. I am so glad I found this place and cannot wait to return someday.

“Wonderful”
Reviewed 24 January 2016 for a stay in December 2015

I enjoyed my 5 day stay at Tri Tan Cabanas. Since it was my first time visiting Belize, Mr. Curling was very helpful and made sure I had taxi service to and from the airport. I was right in walking distance off everything and I liked that property was fenced in for privacy. I enjoyed laying out on the hammock in the afternoon and looking at the stars at night. If you are no frills no fuss travel this is a great place to stay.

“Perfection in Placencia”

Right on the beach and in the middle of many great restaurants, this cute cabana has a huge porch with two hammocks for lazy afternoons listening to the surf. Cabana is very clean and bug free. Comes with drip coffee maker (they supply the filters) microwave, frig. and very comfortable double bed with comforter for chilly nights. WiFi worked well. The ceiling fan and multiple windows catch the ocean breeze and keeps things cool without air conditioning. Curling the owner, quickly attends to any issues that may arise and is a super nice guy. This place is TERRIFIC!
