“Perfection!”

We visited Kanantik for our honeymoon, and can't imagine a better experience! The resort is secluded and relaxing, yet offers tons of activities to choose from at and away from the resort. Agapito, our tour guide, was amazing and had answers to all of our many questions about Belize. We highly recommend the snorkeling and Mayan Ruins tours. They were both wonderful. The service we received from Rodney (our waiter and bartender) was unmatched, and he was great company to boot. Roberto (the owner) and Louise made sure we were always comfortable and enjoying our stay to the fullest. We are both slightly picky eaters, but enjoyed every single meal. The food was absolutely amazing! We enjoyed it so much that we requested some of the recipes to take home, and the kitchen staff took the time to write each of them down for us. We went during Belize's "rainy season", but luckily the weather was near perfect for us.
Although the cabanas are equipped with air conditioning, we had to adjust because it was still pretty warm during the day and some nights. We spent most of our time outside where the breeze kept us cool. Overall, this was not a problem for us at all. Beware that being in the jungle involves a few critters in and around the cabanas, but nothing to be concerned about. We actually enjoyed getting to see it all! The facilities, staff, atmosphere, everything about Kanantik was even more amazing than we anticipated. We truly enjoyed our stay and could not imagine a better place for our honeymoon. Thank you Kanantik!!

We were surprised to discover we'd be the only guests for our week (tourism is down all over Belize due to the U.S economic downturn). However, that made no difference in the quality of service at Kanantik. The staff was welcoming and attentive, the food was fabulous (different dinners each night for myself, a vegetarian, and my meat-eating husband), and we enjoyed all our package tours. We visited the Mayan site Xunantunich, Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary, and had an all-day snorkeling trip. Roberto also urged us to take time to explore the trails and beach, and to find the crocodile nest, and the wildlife observation tower by the pond - glad we did.

Room Tip: The rooms closest to the beach have an excellent night breeze, while those set furthest back are the...

In Belize, Kantantik has to be the best combination of the outstanding diving you would expect in Belize, plus very attentive service and wonderful food. Yes, that’s not a typo, truly, the food was the most unexpected part of the trip. We’ve been to Belize before, actually these dives put us over 70 dives, all in just wonderful locations – but as most of you know, great diving doesn’t always go with great food. At Kanantik it did! We had the most lovely red snapper in a coconut broth, an unexpected treat of a very fresh gazpacho, a lovely eggplant parmesan appetizer, just to name a few. It was my birthday and the chef even made me my own birthday cake – and a nice spice cake at that! We were just very impressed, and must add, like many of the other reviewers, the owner, Roberto, really stands out. He was our “boat captain” the days we were diving and did he best to make us happy – from taking a short detour over to play with the dolphins, to listening to our craving for fresh ceviche – and voila – guess what we had later that week? Just a wonderful trip. We would recommend it to anyone looking great service and a culinary treat to go with wonderful diving.

Arrival could not be easier via Tropic Air from Belize City directly to Kanantiks private airstrip where we were greeted warmly by the owner Roberto and staff member Louise. Robertos passion to be true to Belizean culture and ecosystem is clearly reflected in the architecture and grounds of this beautiful resort. We found out quickly it is the staff that makes this property even more extraordinary with their welcoming manner and personal attention to every detail.
Our time spent there was full of adventure and education provided by Pete our own personal Kanantik guide who shared his Mayan and Belizean culture with us on our journeys to Xunantunich, Cockscomb jaguar Preserve and the barrier reef.
When not away from the property on adventures we relaxed surrounded by natures beauty and the most attentive and competent staff we have experienced in quite awhile. Most of the time we felt as if the entire place was ours alone unless of course you needed or wanted something.
We enjoyed the all inclusive package with wonderfully prepared food and excellent adventures. We could not have asked for a more relaxed stress-free vacation.
Our thanks to Roberto,Louise, Pete, Rodney, Berta and the other staff for creating an experience that was "Simply Spectacular"

I searched long and hard for a memorable destination for our honeymoon We wanted somewhere with the flavor of Bora Bora without the long flights there and back. We considered many spots around the Carribbean and rejected cruising and the big all-inclusive chains as being too packaged for us. Then we found Kanantik in a blurb from a travel mag. We researched the resrot here and were impressed with the many good reviews, so we booked the trip. The staff was helpful and pleasant from the first email contact, and arranging the visit was trouble-free.

We spent 6 days and 5 nights on the property, and it was a fantastic experience. The setting is exquisitely beautiful and the property was scrupulously maintained - the beach groomed daily. We were there for privacy and relaxation as were the other couples (this is a honeymoon destination - 4-5 other couples were there with us). We never felt crowded or rushed and we revelled in the slow pace and the unscheduled time.

Accomodations
The private cabanas are gorgeous. Spacious with high thatched roofs, large comfortable beds and air conditioning if you need it (We turned it on at night to sleep a little cooler, but the sea breeze was probably sufficient.) The rooms are nicely decorated with the appropriate Mayan touches and very clean.

Food
All the food was very good. This is an all-inclusive resort (of necessity - the nearby town of Dangriga is not a convenient trip) and the meals are at set times with limited choices: 2-3 selections per meal. The resort also offers heavy hors d'oeuvres in the bar in the evening before dinner at 7. All the food was tasty, well-prepared, and very fresh. it was never a problem to choose something delicious. Portions are smaller than at most U.S. restaurants (a good thing), but we always felt well-fed.

Staff
The staff is exceptionally friendly and attentive. The small size of the resort enables the staff to get to know the guests and you to get to know them. They are uniformly polite, cheerful and helpful. Roberto, the owner, is frequently present and very involved in making sure the guests are taken care of.

I should note a couple of points based on other negative comments here. 1) I never saw the owner abuse the staff in any way. Did he occasionally make his points with some passion? Yes, but never in what I would consider a disrespectful manner. I want an owner who is passionate about what he is doing. It shows in his service and his standards. 2) The owner's daughter lives on the property with him. She is a delightful, polite amd very well-behaved child. We enjoyed having her around when she was there. Her presence was entirely unobtrusive.

A great experience. We'd go back tomorrow.
