This isn’t a big fancy resort, but you can’t beat the price and location. We thought about staying at a resort but decided to save some money for diving and went with a lesser priced hotel. The location is great, right in the middle of town. The rooms are big for a hotel and it was nice having a kitchen, as we stocked up on some cold and drinks for the weekend. The view is nice and the balcony is big too. It’s a little noisy being in the middle of town but you get used to it. We had a couple roaches as well but being on the first floor in the Caribbean, there’s not a ton you can do about that sometimes. Overall I’d recommend this hotel to anyone not looking to break the bank but still have a comfortable experience.

We thank you for your comments of Mayan Princess Hotel. When you have a beachfront location, clean room and a comfortable bed, the rest of your vacation seems to just fall into place. We know a vibrant city like San Pedro can occasionally get a little noisy, though we are always happy to accommodate requests for quieter room locations. Paradise doesn’t have to cost a fortune, and we’re happy to be able to share our way of life with you at a reasonable cost. We hope if you’re ever in Belize again you’ll join us for some more fun!

The rooms were just Ok. For just being remodeled I thought ours was yet to be remodeled. The furniture is old, the bed comfort was ok, the bathroom very small, kitchen well stocked. The beach is clean but in a very busy boat location. The dock is much smaller than the pic represents. I would not feel comfortable swimming there. The in town location was convenient. If I were looking for a water and sun filled vacation I would have been disappointed. As it was, the weather was too cool for that so we enjoyed our stay. We rented a jeep and explored the island. The barking dogs were not really an issue as stated in other reviews. We were on the bottom floor. There is no elevator. The wifi was down but the staff , after 1 day was able to get us an access through the office. The staff was very nice and helpful.

Room Tip: If you can't do stairs get the bottom floor

Thank you for the valuable comments regarding your recent stay with us at Mayan Princess. We are delighted to hear the staff was able to take care of you and offer friendly service. Some of our updates involved new air conditioning units and granite counter tops with built-in stoves, replacing the white tile our guests became familiar with over the years. There is so much to enjoy on Ambergris Caye, even when the weather is gloomy, so we are glad you were able to get out and explore! We hope you will offer us the pleasure of another visit.

We absolutely loved our stay here! They have hammocks that you can borrow so that you can relax and unwind on the balcony whilst looking on The beach! It’s easily accessible as you can walk to anywhere from their location - very walkable. I definitely recommend this hotel!

First I must say all of the staff were very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The other parts to my review are no reflection of how the staff is at this hotel. The balcony and hammock provided a beautiful and relaxing experience. The location is close to the water ferry. There is only one entrance in an alleyway in downtown San Pedro. Having never been to Belize I didn't realize the sketchiness in some areas of the downtown. They do have a security guard at night, but the first night we arrived back to the room and the halls were completely pitch black. Unfortunately, this hotel is located in a less desirable area in Ambergris Cay. Stay North of the bridge. On the morning of checkout we found a huge roach inside of our room. Thank goodness we were about to leave.

Room Tip: They are doing renovations. We returned back one day to find 2 chairs had been replaced with a couch. Hopefully cleanliness is a priority.

Thank you for your recent stay. We are in an enviable location – the vibrant town of San Pedro out our front door and the beach out our back. We ensure we are very clear about our location, and for that very reason many guests stay with us. In the tropics insects are part of daily life and should be expected. Unlike in the city, their presence is not indicative of anything but an open window or door where they made entry. We hope your future travels are pleasant

Our room was clean and the bed comfortable. The deck and view were great features. The staff were friendly and answered questions. We were not informed nor were there signs indicating that we should not drink the tap water nor use it for making coffee. We thought this odd as there were coffee making supplies provided and filtered water was not provided hence we assumed it was fine to use. Only after using it for two days did we learn that it is not recommended! Our stay was satisfactory though nothing particularly remarkable

Thanks for your recent stay. We regret that you did not know about the suitability of tap water, as many of our guests do not have an issue with it. The water is regarded as potable as it’s chlorinated at the source and as such is safe for drinking. We’ll take your comments with the best of intentions.
