Everyone was wonderful at this resort. Clean, courteous and friendly! We can't wait to come back! They have my mother's 77th birthday special on the beach. Everyone is so welcoming.
Don't be afraid to ask for something special. It's more likely in your price range than you think.

We stayed for 10 days in January. Ramon's Village Resort is a wonderful, welcoming place. It is small and the palapas are nice and private. The staff are warm and the location of the dive shop right on the pier of the property is convenient for excursions (we don't dive but we still visited them nearly every day). Yoga on the pier three times a week, a wonderful spa (facial is a must) and so close to town and other restaurants if you choose to roam. We will return!
We loved our stay at Ramon's! The entire place was perfect, from the beach seating and hammocks to the lovely pier (blue lights at night made it so picturesque) to the wonderful cafe/bar which took care of us from our coffee at 7 to our Belikins at the end of the day. The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable, the shower perfect. The seating area outside the room was quiet and private and a perfect way to start the day. We stayed in a Jungle Deluxe Family room. The entire resort was well cared for and well designed for the comfort of the guests. We ate at Pineapple's on our first night and it was delicious (especially the bread!). Golf cart rental was convenient and it was great to be able to rent for just one day. We didn't need more than one day, because the rest of the time we were able to walk to town either along the beach or on the road. That was perhaps my favorite part of this location: it was a wonderful resort, but close enough to town that we were able to spend much of our time there and get to know the village and the community very well. (Five minute walk to most places!) The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful and we enjoyed getting to know them during our stay. They provided top-level service including helping with our covid tests.
We spent 2 weeks at Ramon's, diving for 12 of the 14 days... The majority of the rooms are thatch-roofed, scuba-diver centric, and fairly cut off from the real world, which is what we were looking for. The wifi was good but there are no TVs in the rooms. Each room has a minifridge, microwave, and coffee machine, but you'll want to get the lattes at Tropic Al's in the resort. One thing we didn't know about ahead of time but found to be a HUGE plus was the 6 hammocks on the beach that are thatch roofed for shade! Some of the other more expensive rooms had private hammocks but we had a good time using these. The beach area was well kept and they raked the sargassum pretty much every day. We didn't need a golf cart because the resort is only a few minutes walk to the restaurants in town. You'll only need one if you go to Secret Beach or explore north or south of town.
One of the big reasons we chose Ramon's was the Dive shop and scuba excursions leaving from their dock, which was a 45second walk from our room.
I want to give a big shout out to Joshua at the front desk, Carlos in Pineapple, and Rick, Rayo, Guillerme, Pete, Sammy, and Elmer at the Dive Center. These folks all made us feel at home!
One of a kind relaxing tropical palapas right on the beach. Best beach in San Pedro! Walking distance to town and many restaurants. PADI dive center on site very convenient with great local reef diving. Blue Hole worth the dive! Unforgettable once in a lifetime opportunity to see 10,000 year old stalactites! We’ll preface this by saying that while we don’t write many reviews, we believe that Ramon’s Village Resort absolutely deserves one.
My partner and I visited Belize for 7 days in late Nov / early Dec to get some Sun and get PADI certified. We eventually decided on Ramon’s and are so glad we did. First off, the resort itself is beautiful and really quaint - a jungle-type atmosphere with a lot of privacy in the middle of San Pedro. The property, its beach and the ocean are just really beautiful and well maintained. We stayed at Steve & Becky’s apartments, the rooms that are on the other side of the street, and we had no issues at all apart from being a little too close to the neighbouring San Pedro airport (we got used to the noise quickly). In Ramon’s itself, you could barely hear the planes at all. Overall, amazing property.
The food at Ramon’s restaurant, Pineapple’s, is great, and they have a bunch of options for breakfast/lunch/dinner. The dive shop at Ramon’s is amazing, with a lot of unique excursions that are available to join almost on a daily basis. The scuba diving is also really great - the reefs are beautiful and there’s plenty of unique fish and other ocean friends to see.
However, the best part about Ramon’s by far is the people that work there. You feel appreciated the moment you step on the property and really feel like part of a family. The staff that work at the front desk, on site, at Pineapple’s and at the dive shop are so courteous, attentive and kind, they really made the difference in our trip. They knew our names, said hi every time they saw us, and always asked how they could make our stay even better. Special shout out to Jose at the front desk, Chief and Carlos at Pineapples, and especially to our dive instructor Adolfo. He was such a great and patient teacher that made sure our dives were as memorable as possible. Thanks to him, we got certified and will scuba dive for years to come. Thanks again Adolfo!!
If you’re ever thinking of staying at Ramon’s for your trip to Belize, especially if you want to scuba dive or snorkel, don’t think twice. Whether you’re a couple, a family or friends diving together, you’ll want to come back the moment you leave. Thanks again for everything Ramon’s! 6/5.
