My sister and I visited this attraction while staying on Ambergris Caye. The tour guide throws bait fish into the water and MANY fish and nurse sharks gather to eat their treats. It is thrilling, bur very brief. The sting rays that huddled around the area were HUGE! A neat experience, but over very quickly. When the bait runs out the sharks don't hand around.

So many sharks we had to wait to jump in the water. Be ready to jump in as soon as the boat is anchored because they don’t let you stay in the water for long. Very cool. Not threatening.

For those of us who don't dive and only occasionally put on a mask and flippers, this was a great way to large rays and harmless nurse sharks at close range. While the animals are clearly "tame" and used to being fed and touched, it's still an awesome experience to stroke the back of an enormous ray and to actually hold a shark in your arms!

swimming with sharks and sting rays sounds like a very scary idea...yep, it is. you enter the water and the sharks swarm toward you, but even scarier are the sting rays, they are everywhere..... make sure to go
