Three of us went to North Beach for dinner on a weekday night around 6:30 PM. We entered through the bar and there was very loud live music. Great sound for drinks but not for dinner. Luckily the hostess took us into a virtually empty dining room. As soon as we were seated, a charming and knowledgeable waiter came over to greet us.
The menu had a decent wine by glass list. Nothing outstanding, but appropriate for the restaurant. The waiter was very comfortable guiding us through the menu and steering to the best entrees.
I selected the scallops over a bacon corn risotto. Three were three large, well-prepared scallops. The risotto was very flavorful and tasty. Another of our party got the fish and chips. If you like well-battered crispy cod and crispy fries, you will be pleased. The other member of our party ordered the eggplant Parmesan stacks. The eggplant was very well prepared crispy , not bitter with a small amount of marinara sauce and an appropriate amount of cheese. It was a very elegantly prepared and presented entree. Not something you typically see on a bistro menu.
By the time we departed the restaurant was full. It is a moderately priced restaurant with good food and good service.
