yea there are bigger and nicer forests, but this is basically right in the middle of town next to the university. beautiful and a wonderful 20=30 minute easy walk

Pretty redwoods right near the city. I love jogging there on the numerous paths. Great place for walking or running as long as you're OK with hills. Or I took my dad there to drink our milkshakes in a beautiful forest location without getting out of the car. Very convenient nearby location.

This would be a excellent rating but for the fact that there are so many homeless living in the stumps of these forest giants and leaving their trash along the trails. Don't misunderstand, this forest is beautiful with very large redwoods, beautiful ferns, moss and wildflowers but the city really needs to stop overnight camping to make this park safe and to keep it clean. We spent an hour here enjoying the incredible beauty and the sheer silence of being in a deep forest and I personally could have spent longer were the sun not setting.

This place is fantastic - it's a miniature redwood grove right in the center of Arcata. We parked and went for a walk - it's was nice and relaxing.

Big green canopy of huge redwood trees without a lot of undergrowth and we'll maintained trails. This is one of the places I take out of towners as it's easily acessible, right in town and beautiful any time of year.
