“Celebrating Disney Style!”
Reviewed 25 April 2012

We celebrated my daughter's birthday this past weekend at the Disneyland Resort. We arrived at 9am and was told we could store our bags at the bell desk until our room was ready. Check in wasn't until 3pm so we decided to hit the parks right away. Just outside of the Disneyland Hotel is Downtown Disney. They have a monorail depot station that takes you right into Disneyland. Since we all had our passes, it was a breeze getting to the park! After a few hours, I decided to check to see if our room was ready. We booked a 1 bedroom suite to make it extra special for my daughter and her 2 friends. Unfortunately, the room was not ready at 3pm. The girls decided to go swimming in the pool. We had no problem getting their swimsuits from the bell desk.

We were a little upset that our room was not ready as promised. The staff kept telling us that because it was a suite, it was taking a little bit longer to clean. At about 4pm, we finally got our room. My husband did have a conversation with the manager and we did receive room credit for our inconveniece. When we finally walked into the room, it was even better than I expected. We haven't stayed here since the remodel and I must say that everything looked very modern. The bedroom had 2 queen beds with a beautiful headboard that lit up. There was a desk and a tv console. The bathroom was a little on the smaller side, but the great thing was there were 2 vanity mirrors. One inside the bathroom, and one just outside the bathroom. The living area had a couch (that turned into a pull out bed) and it comfortably fit three 12 year olds. There was also a bar area that had 2 bar stools, a mini refrigerator, and a mini sink. Also in this room was another flat screen tv and a dining table with 2 chairs. Another perk of this suite was that we had 2 balconies with an amazing view. Must see pictures attached!

Finally to make it extra special, I had a balloon bouquet delivered to the room, as well as a Minnie Mouse gift basket (although there was no basket, it was beautifully packaged). I also ordered Mickey shaped rice crispy treats. At first, I received Mickey Mouse cookies, but informed the room service attendant that I ordered the rice crispy treats. They resolved the problem immediately. The treats and balloons I pre ordered from room serivce, and the Minnie gift basket I ordered through a Disneyland service that creates custom gift baskets.

One other minor inconvenience was that the picture quality on one of the tv's was poor. It would flicker every now and then. I didn't make a big deal of it, as we weren't really there to watch tv, but I did mention it upon checking out.

The girls had a blast at the pool and utilized the new waterslides. Everyone had a great time and it was very memorable birthday weekend!

Room Tip: If you want an added bonus, the rooms on the 14th floor of the Frontier Tower had balconies. Our sui...

As a family of 5 it's hard to find a room that can fit us all comfortably but Disney has managed that. We had three comfortable beds (couch flips to a twin), magical headboards, and plenty of room to move around.

There was a cheerleading competition going on and the mothers (Not the cheerleaders) were making a ruckus in the hall past 10pm called security and they quickly came so my kids could go to sleep. Talk about great service!

Pool looks inviting though we didn't use it and the quick service restaurant nearby the pool was good and convenient.

Over all an enjoyable get away with the family.

I stayed at the hotel with a large group in relation to a training programme provided by the Disney Institute. The hotel is large but because of the four buildings around the pool it does not feel that large. Rooms are spacious, nice and with some Mickey ear details here and there. It's a bit frustrating that you cannot open the window. Staff everywhere is always smiling, hospitable and is very friendly which is really nice. Disney music is played in all common areas which makes you relax and at times annoyed.
This is the perfect place to stay if you're visiting Disneyland besides that the area has not much to offer. For families the pool area must be really nice - was a bit cold for the season we visited.
The bar next to the pool area makes awful breakfast but really nice drinks and snacks. For breakfast go to the hotel's traditonal steak house, which also makes nice steaks and have an extensive wine menu.

We (myself, husband, mother, friend, and 11 year old daughter) visited the Disneyland Hotel for the first time for 3 nights in April. We had a fabulous time! The rooms are spacious (even for 4 adults and 1 child) and beautiful. Loved the headboard that lit up and played music! Location is wonderful - just a few minutes walk to both parks and Downtown Disney. The newly renovated pool was a big hit with my daughter! It is laid out very nicely - separate area for the cool new monorail slides, then a smaller, rectangluar pool, and a larger pool. Poolside service was great also! We had wonderful service from checking in at the front desk to housekeeping. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

We had a great trip to Disneyland with friends. The hotel was really nice and the location is great. The only problem we had was a very limited supply of warm water for showers. This made for uncomfortable showers. Not sure staying here is worth the money as there are plenty of shuttles from nearby hotels for free. Well worth it if you have children who need a break from the park to swim or rest. I would recommend staying here at least once for the experience.
