I brought my elderly parents to the Albion from the Midwest and have to say it was the highlight of their stay in California. The setting is beautiful and beyond compare. The food delicious and the staff some of the most professional and courteous people I (and my parents - who are still smiling) have ever had the good fortune of meeting.
I highly recommend the Albion to anyone considering a trip to the coast. Thanks to everyone we dealt with at the Albion!!!!

Room Tip: Any room is wonderful!!

We had a week long stay in California, mostly on the coast. One night we were to stay in Elk at a B&B we had a groupon for. When we arrived there the place was a nightmare so we chose to leave and had to find somewhere else to stay. It was a Wednesday and we had travelled from Mendocino to Elk and saw a pretty inn on the way down. It was the Albion River Inn. We called & my husband spoke to Doug. He was so nice and offered us a discount. When we got there we were so excited when we opened our door. We were right on the bluff overlooking the ocean. The room was really nice, with a fireplace and a really great porch with a sliding glass door & screen. We slept with the door open with the sound of the ocean crashing & a fire burning in the fireplace. What a awesome experience for our last night on the coast. Try the restaurant, it is top notch too.

Room Tip: I think all rooms are great.

We enjoyed our recent stay at the Albion River Inn. This was our first trip to Mendocino and it was beautiful. I guess with the present state of the economy we were not too surprised at the number of shops and large inns/hotels that had closed. The Albion River Inn has a great dining room/bar and they serve a huge breakfast to their hotel guests evey morning (included in the room fee). The grounds are beautiful, but the rooms could use a little updating. We enjoyed the fireplace in our room and would definitly stay here again.

My wife discovered this gem, and we loved it. Beautiful view from our private deck. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated. We had a fire in the fireplace each night, and some mornings. The staff was friendly and very efficient - they all called us by name.

This was the first time I'd ever been to Cali, my partner and I work together and I was photographing and filming for his new album. Whilst on the road we needed somewhere to stay, and drove through the beautiful quiet village of Albion. Turning up rather impromptu, we spoke to the lovely lady who looks after the entire place and managed to get a room at cabin number 6. It blew my mind, walking in there and seeing such an incredible view coming from our balcony. I didn't want to leave Albion, I was so inspired and taken over by the tranquility there. We managed to get some filming and shots taken just form the balcony itself, and spent almost every evening making friends with the locals and eating at the River Inn Restaurant (with the most amazing seafood!). Having lived in London, England for the past 5 years, waking up to the sound of the ocean and pure blue surf and sky was so nice. Wrapped up warm in bed, with the fire burning was just right for me. During the day time we would drive up to surrounding neighbourhoods and drive along the windy coastal roads. The kind owners even lets us do our laundry there if we wanted to! The River Inn service was absolutely fantastic. I couldn't fault it at all!
