“Good for the price”

Rooms are old and outdated elevators are slow but good quality for the price ac was bad the first 2 nights but good the second two we only reserved a basic room to sleep 5 but ended up with a suite with 2 queens and a KING! rooms could be updated hotel can use a facelift and a good remodeling but it beats 1,000+ per night in the heart of dc. excelent walking distance to everywhere, but if you have little kids you may need to take a trolly or taxi.

This hotel was very convenient to the Intl. Spy Museum, the National Mall, White House, shopping and so many things!. It was plain but had the basics. The little TV in the room was disappointing, beds were comfortable, nice springtime breeze with easy to open windows, pretty clean, gift shop downstairs was cool and it was close to Lincoln's Waffle House which we enjoyed going to. All in all, if location is your priority, this is a good choice. If you like modern conveniences and style, this isn't your best bet.

Unless you get rates on special for this hotel, I'd avoid cos it's not worth paying premium rates just for it's location. Next time, I'd rather pay even more but for a safer hotel. Didn't feel safe - the door chain was broken into & we would have no electricity (all the lights would go out) at least once every morning - was lucky I didn't slip in the shower in the dark (btw the drains always block up). Also had no amenities like jug or kettle or even mini fridge. When we asked if we could our milk in the hotel fridge (since we didn't have one in our room) we were told they didn't have a fridge down there & couldn't hold our milk for us. All this for premium rates!! Not worth it.

As far as location goes, this can't be beat. However, that means you're paying a premium for what you get, which is frankly a bit of a dump of a hotel. The car park, advertised as a "short 4 block walk away" is a good five minute walk, though you can stop outside the hotel to load and unload (why they haven't reached an agreement with the car park next door, owned by the same company PMI, is odd). The view from our room was some offices literally 5m away, we could see people in meetings so had to keep the curtains closed. At the end of the day though, had a good night's sleep which is the main thing (no noisy plumbing, banging doors, elevator noises, inconsiderate guests drunkenly shouting at 2am....). Also we were given a large room with 3 beds (2 doubles and one single) which was perfect for our family of 4.

The hotel was in a great location and we took complete advantage of that. The rooms are old but we were not in it for very long so it didn't matter. Compared to most hotels in the area, the price was very good. If you want to walk to all the monuments and the smithsonians, this is the place for you.
