The food was delicious and our service was fine but the noise level was deafening and completely ruined our meal. It was impossible to talk about the extraordinary food and share the enjoyment.

My husband took me there for our anniversary on a weekend and it was supper busy.
I was a little worried of the food and the service as the host make us sit in a place we did not like but upon my husband requesting to be reseated he immediately was able find a better place. We placed our order and our waiter (Chouaib) explained how navigate the menu. The food was amazing, his service was OUTSTANDING. The way Chouaib talks to the customers is very professional yet has a personal touch. I hope you recognize his hard work.

Ruined anniversary. Reservations well in advance. ( no confirmation after 2 calls) 15 min wait for wee table at entrance queued folks w wet coats and dripping umbrellas. I said No. Put us upstairs squeezed into a corner. SO LOUD AND FRANTICALLY OVERBOOKED I never received my food. Shared my husband’s food.
So- go with loud friends. Feel free to wear shorts and flip flops.
But a nice anniversary dinner with beautiful multi course tasting menu?

Crowded when we went on a Tuesday night - you definitely should have a reservation unless you want to sit at the bar. We ended up at a high-top near the bar, so it was somewhat noisy but lots of enegy. Got there during happy hour, and the apps were incredible for the low price! Good gin drink too. Can't remember any of the names now, but we got a number of small plates that were all very flavorful. Plenty to eat for what a thought was a reasonable price for such well-planned & executed food. I doubt you can go wrong with anything you order since they've thought out the flavor combinations very well.

The restaurant was busy..not sure why. The food was terrible and bland. Order: Charred Eggplant Pide - could not find the eggplant. Cauliflower Tiganites - flavorless. Kofte Kebab - fair, but scant portion for $14. Chicken Youvets - absolute worst dish of the four...soggy orzo with canned tomato sauce and one or two pieces of chicken. Skip this restaurant and don't be fooled by the large crowd. DC has many better ones to offer. This was a takeout order, and the waitstaff ignored me for a full ten minutes before retrieving my order, for which I had already received a text message stating that it was ready.
