The dumplings were delicious! Make sure you go for lunch, because the prices are significantly cheaper than dinner prices for the same foods.

If you are hungry in DC and need a quick decent Chinese meal, Eat First in Chinatown is a good choice. Very typical lunch menu, very typical ambience (plastic chairs/tables), fairly quick service, fairly decent food, nothing spectacular. One exception: the meat dumplings were home made and really good!

We have been to DC a couple of times in the summer and the first summer we found this restaurant. It was a real "find." Not only because of the food which is very good and comparable to lots of similar restaurants on the West Coast where Chinese food is pervasive. But for us, we were travelling and we wanted to eat a good, healthy, delicious meal in order to keep up our stamina. This place fit the bill. We have been to lunch about five times - we usually order the cashew chicken dish - they are friendly and flexible and I noticed that they let people who came in after the lunch menu was finished easily order from that menu. Hey, that makes people happy, makes those people want to come back, and makes people who observe this write good reviews about the restaurant!

This restaurant for good for cheap lunch time deals. You get a egg roll a soup and an pre-selected entree for lunch. Chinese green tea is also served with the lunch. One good thing about this restaurant is that it serves congee. Which is a good light and healthy fare.

They greeted us with hot tea which was good. We ordered spring rolls, lo mien, broccoli with chicken and fried rice. The spring rolls were extremely oily. The lo mien and broccoli with chicken were average. The fried rice was delivered to our table then the waiter came and took the plate away because it was "wrong", after we had already started the to eat it.
At the end of the meal they brought fresh oranges and fortune cookies
