We were in Washington for a work conference, my co-worker and I decided to try this place out for lunch while we were there since it had such great reviews. Unfortunately, it was nothing special.

The interior was very pretty, however, the service and food were just mediocre at best. Our appetizers tasted like they were just warmed up/reheated and our main dishes were just ok. Nothing stood out and nothing was super flavorful or anything we'd recommend. Maybe we had an off day or ordered the wrong items off the menu?

We are from Canada so not sure if our standards for what qualifies as a good restaurant are perceived differently.

Definitely a must do.. in a great area, by the white house and treasury building. Good drinks, and interesting building. You can see lots of famous people and have a great evening.

We had dinner there during a stay in D.C. The place is crowded and loud, but that's part of the charm Be sure to make reservations, and definitely order the meatloaf!

A great restaurant with lots of history. We had a delicious meal that included one of their homemade pasta. I definitely recommend! Also fantastic Kale Caesar salad. The service is great. Very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. We had a problem with my husband’s dish and it was handled within minutes. Just a solid place.

Despite several local moves over many years, this restaurant & it's 3 bars boast an interesting history and great decor. Great current location across from the Treasury Dept building and an easy walk from the White House. We enjoyed a mid-morning, weekday brunch from the menu in the main dining room. My smoked salmon omelet was delicious and my wife enjoyed traditional eggs benedict. Service was friendly and efficient. We would return again.
